I kicked heroin and the full spectrum of other opioids almost five years ago, and on the now rare occasions I feel the old cravings I'll listen to songs about them, or ones I associate with them to remind me of just how shitty and horrible my life was back then. Makes me think "do I really want to go through all that again?" And the answer is always a resounding "Oh, hell no."

Addicts sort of get their fix by thinking about stories from their drug times. Remembering what it felt like both good and bad provides a weird satisfaction, and helps them remember why they want to stay sober, especially when they get as deep as steveo did.

LSD and mushrooms completely changed my whole outlook on life. I became a better version of myself This experience gave me a lot of confidence about my self and my body. A bunch of bad thought / behavior patterns were broken. One of these was pretty bad OCD that made me wash my hands a lot. It gave me a lot of hope that things will be fine, this is the one thing that I heard throughout the trip: Everything is alright. The main reason for the trip was my severe depression and it definitely helped me (although it's not gone). Before all I could do was lay in bed. Now I am trying to rebuild my life one step at a time which wasn't possible before."

Acid is no different. It will make you just as introspective. Same thing. Nowhere to hide from yourself. The difference with boomers is the physical. I have literally shit myself and gone blind. I've had friends go completely unresponsive to the point where we called an ambulance because we were afraid they might die. Everyone thinks that boomers are the safe natural option. It's the complete opposite. Boomers will fucking wreck you. That might be what Steve-O is talking about.

The biggest thing here was him mentioning the terrible experiences on Shrooms. He was so deep in his addiction that the revelations the mushrooms we're revealing to him were too overwhelming to accept while he was still living that lifestyle. Mushrooms are medicine. But you have to be ready to receive it, otherwise they call it a "bad trip"

It's been many years for me but when I was doing drugs I did all the hard stuff you name it I was on it crystal meth, heroine, opana, fentanyl, Roxy, Xanax, klonopin, acid, shrooms, mescaline, Molly, pcp, and usually I was mixing them I would mix meth with heroin or opioids with benzos or if I would mix acid, shrooms, or some other hallucinogens with Molly or ecstasy. If you're serious and you're shot tf out stop now not everyone is as lucky as me I've overdosed more times than I can count and one of those time I died at the hospital and was resuscitated and when you take it as far as I did you don't get to walk away with your physical and mental health in tact but you do get to walk away with your life and that counts for something

I've been sober for a year and a half some days are hard but I push through it I just tell myself how great I feel being sober

pcp is not a bad experience, similar dissociative effects as ketamine. its just in some cases causes psychosis which is where it gets all its bad rep.

I relate to steveo so much on drug choice. My first answer would be ketamine as well. And when he said Xanax I loved Xanax so much I feel that so hard. My two favorite drugs. Ketamine and Xanax for sure. And alcohol. Never liked meth but wouldn't turn it down if offered. I liked coke much better. Nitrous was a good time as well. With hallucinogens I have had a really bad time on mushrooms but always a great time with lsd.

Well all that's great until you boil em down, and the strength is too much and you dose about 4 inches in your Hawaiian punch....ain't no coming down for 24 hours...that will test you...but the last 6 hours was Nirvana after it started to level out. Every other time was micro dosing or eating small dried out stems ...very cool and easy to manage.

From one recovering addict to another good job getting clean I'm coming up on 10 years 🤙
