AI was playing > 35 mins per game on avg for his team I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that AI doesn't train in his later years is because his body couldn't handle too much anymore

What really makes Nash so good is his footwork. Notice the differences of footwork he dribbles comparing to the kids'. 2:22 When he did behind-the-back to the left, he meant to use his right foot as a fake as well as the support. To achieve this, his first step is a tiny left one, to help him get closer to the defender. After this his right foot attacks to the right with a large step strongly, confuses the defender, and dribbles to the left. Also notice at 4:36 the In-and-Out dribble. Nash applies the same technique, a small right step to approach the suitable distance, a large left foot attack, and then change direction. The following moves by the kid is obviously less clean and effective, because of the wasted footworks. Footwork really matters.

That's not actually the purpose of the tiny left step. The tiny left step swings the body weight to the left so that when Nash takes the large step to the right he has some momentum working against him to push off against. This is a standard trick in any sport requiring explosive movement.

The hell with curry! Nash to me is the better point guard hands down. Nash has had so many games to prove what I’m saying but the game that will show you guys look up the game between the suns and nets that went into triple overtime and watch Nash go the hell off. I really miss watching Nash play thank god for KZread I love the reruns!!!!

Just wonderful, I have been researching "good basketball drills for point guards" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Nanackson Guardo Philosophy - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my mate got great success with it.

much rather his back was killing him game after game. When your having that much trouble just to stay healthy you can't stay on top. (especially if your game consists of these contorted passes - for the people that will name bird as an example that still played for years with that injury)

What is Nash talking about? He and every guard in the NBA take banana routes to the basket. Going straight through the defender would result in an offensive foul.

Maybe it's the definition of banana route. I'm taking it to mean "not in a straight line". When you see Nash drive it is always at an angle away from the defender. He does this to get around the defender then he closes them off on his hip.
