Dave is not only a bass player, he's a rhythm genius, a melody and harmony creator, a groove god.

I follow Steve by ''74 (Dregs and Dixy Dregs ) and made a clinic with him in Rome (1999) I consider him most complete guitarist ever...no one other can play (at same level) acoustic, classic, electrical, 12 strings , mandolin ecc...and finally ...his songs ARE BEAUTYFULL!!!

These two will run circles around any other guitar/ bass duo in a multitude of styles. Also, can it just be said that this lineup, including drummer Rod Morgenstein, are seemingly immortal? Effers look like how they did in the ‘80s…

What a great club. I saw many shows there. I saw them across the river at the Birchmere in the early 1990s. Wonderful show. Just absolutely stellar playing! I should change my username to bassplayer1956!

@@bassplayer1966 I'm playing more guitar these days, but my. heart is bass. The bass rules the song...no question. I have a 4-string Fender Jazz Dlx from about year 2000 that I string with flats. I bought a Fender Jazz V Ultra in 2018 that I use when I play in church with rounds on it. I'm in a band now with a guy with a Spector. That bass tone is in your face. You've got to be really good to tame that bass as I'm sure you are. In the past I had a 1962 reissue that I kick myself for selling that I got in the late 1980s. I had a Rick 4001 that I bought new in 1974. I had an Alembic Distillate that I bought in the early 1980s. I had a late 1970s precision that I put a fretless neck on. Wonderful instruments. All the best to you. Hopefully our musical paths will cross....
