Boy, wasn't that the best "A CAPITOL FOURTH" presentation last night? Made best by Steve and TSCR's rendition of this classic tribute to Paul and his ride...and, of course, his under-appreciated equine pal. What a great get-together! Thanks so much for posting this. Cordially, John and Kristi.

Bluegrass rendition of an event immortalized by Longfellow. If the lyrics aren't available on the 'net, they soon will be. I'm about to hunt for this on CD or MP3. heard it performed last night on PBS. Dynamite.

I musta missed the part where he sings about Paul firing those shots and ringing those bells and warning the British that they were not gonna take our guns!

@alisonreese1 I totally agree with your comment. I too studied the Longfellow poem (& can still recite it!) I am glad to hear from the horse! :-) Excellent music for a 4th of July!

@Jackstraw2269 We went to the show last April and it was incredible. Steve was hilarious (besides being one of the best banjo players ever). After the show, we were heading down a side stairwell to get to our car and the fiddle player came flying up the stairs and just about ran into me haha.

I believe This tune was released as a single only , following the release of the “Rare Bird Alert” CD in 2010 … The Paul Revere single may still be available as a download from iTunes , or perhaps Amazon music
