The chemistry between Steve and Marty is great. The "warmth/heat" of Martin's persona against the "coldness/coolness" of Steve's. I love the way they break Conan up as well. Three old masters. (Okay, two fairly old masters and a not-so-old master. What a treat.

I agree on the chemistry and they are the greatest. Disagree on Steve being the cold one. I think it's the reverse. Marty is the cold one. Of course, I mean that like you do. Not cold in a bad way, they are the best, both of them.

Easily my favorite episode so far. As a kid, both Steve Martin and Marty Short so informed my sense of humor. Planes, Trains and Automobiles still rates in my top 5 holiday movies (thanks in no small part to the legendary John Candy of course). And naturally, being Canadian and from a certain generation, SCTV was a regular feature on my parents' TV screen in the 80s.

These three comedians, probably more than most, have the gift, or curse, of always being “on”, but each in their own way. Conan is the most “on” of anyone, his comedic focus and acumen are second to none, always have been. Martin would be next, but in a much more vaudevillian demeanor and framework. Steve is as observant as he is witty, looking for and studying every opportunity to break in at the best possible moment. His comedic timing has always been spot on, completely relevant and razor sharp.

I love all three of you guys!!! 😂🥰 Referring to your chat about people who see no humor and/or find it offensive.... I was in a "life skills therapy" program with other women years ago. When we would have the large group sessions a different woman would be the speaker. I Missed one session. At the next one, I finally got the nerve to talk and share. I guess I made a joke about myself and 40 women got all in an uproar yelling and preaching at me. I looked around like WTH !!?! Laughing.. The session I missed had been about "there's no such thing as a joke" etc.. OMG! Really!?! So that made me laugh even more😂. .. offended 40 people all at once.. b4 walking out i said I guess My job here is done... I'll send in Tony Tickler Laughing at myself and finding humor and being lighthearted is what's gotten me through life You guys are awesome! Thank you!!!

My mother took away my Steve Martin "Wild and Crazy Guy" album that I had asked for it for Christmas in 1979 when I was 11. My parents had no idea what it was, but I wanted it because I was sneak watching SNL on our old gigantic b&w TV in my bed. My mother heard some of the jokes, which would be nothing now and she was shocked and took it. I found it and took it back and she never knew.

Insult comics go way back and are a fine part of the American comic tradition, Don Rickles being perhaps the most famous of them. So I GET that it's a joke. But I also wonder sometimes about the human psychology that causes us to find that funny, and I have sometimes been in environments where it was carried too far. So yes, we should all lighten up about it, but also recognize that sometimes we can cut too close to the bone.

I think he'd take Conan by punching him in the sac, then while Conan was hunched over in pain, Martin would finish with walking up to him, his crotch right next to Conan's face, and give the 3 Amigos salute. But Conan would laugh and ask for more and then sic Sona on him. And that....that Martin wouldn't survive. No one could.
