I live in Maui Hawaii. I can’t find anyone here to teach me this art form to keep it alive. So thank you for taking the time to put these videos together, they are really a great. Especially coming from a legend like Steve Kafka!
I can't help but chuckle to myself a little bit watching you just effortlessly lay down some incredible lines. Fantastic work and demonstration.

Love your work
Lovely work confidence is the gain of years of practice and shows in your workmanship . Brilliant i use a mahl stick which i find helps and at the age of 63 being a signwriter starting at 14 i find it gives me far more fluidility as i havent got long enough left to reach your skill level totally freehand . A real pleasure to watch thanks for the video cheers mel
wow....thanks. Great music too!
So good!
Thanks for the video, I just ordered the grid template.
Love the #5 scroller
Love the striping that you did! I might start striping myself.

Dear Steve. I find it a shame that you haven't posted more videos in 7 years. The work and the way you teach is gold. So with that in mind, thinking about how long it has bin since, I hope you are doing well. Regardless of what you are doing these days. Many loving greetings from a fellow ½ viking! - M

@@stevekafka How do you find your inspiration on a job? I've got a lot better and have been doing wrenches and gas can and such. The hardest part for me now is an idea or direction. I cant come up with my own darn style.

Trying to fill a void with design and color, no matter what the shape ,involves the client’s wants and needs, the level of monetary involvement, and frankly the reaction of both the client and all the viewing public. Don’t be concerned with developing your own “style “ at the early stages of development, more important to develop good looking quality lines. You’ll get ideas.once you have developed a solid foundation. Do as much research on this art as you can. Be inspired by all you can.

Navyav8r 65 ya know it’s probably easier to work on a bike at a show with input from the owner and wife, than just go for something at the spur of the moment ,spontaneous design, try this, pull a nice single center line in a darker color, now assuming what hand you favor is right, I want you to put the brush with the same color down with the tip up and start doing circles all the way down ,alternating the size of the circles, until you reach the bottom or run out of paint, now repallet the brush, and do the reverse on the opposite side. There ya go the framework for an original design, add other colors with weight for balance in your design...keep going ,do another, these are for practice and muscle memory... do you have my “System” ? That has helped thousands fast track the learning process, watch some of my KZread videos ,they may also inspire you, have fun wit( it.

@@stevekafka Thanks for the Advise Steve. I really appreciate it!! I have watched everyone of your videos on here more times than I could count, zooming in on your brush trying to watch how its rolled in the finger's. I've been pondering your system and the disk of designs you have for a year. I've held off on buying your system because I figured that 90% was posted here on KZread and didn't want to pay for stuff that's been posted. Is that' true or not? I'm about 1.5 years into pinstriping now and haven't made a dime yet or painted on a car or bike at all. I have become the master of old gas cans and Snap-on tools wrench sets for the guys in my truck shop. I do have my 1st big job lined up when I'm ready. A coworker has a large bright white snap on tool box who wants scroll work done it and a big design when I'm ready. So how has Von Dutch's Bus been coming? I haven't found any good posting about it in a few years.
i just purchased this brush. they have them at Blick Art if your having a hard time finding the #5

How much time do you allow between colors? It seems like the newest color would smear the last color or maybe even cause the colors to blend and make it look like a screw up. It amazes me you dont seem to have any problem like this ? Have you ever run into this and how do you combat it? It has taken me a long time to trust the grease pencils you lay down first for NOT bleeding thru! I wish you would talk about this stuff more cus its always on my mind and I'm sure everyone else has the same thoughts......
@villapinstriping

butsqueaker they don't blend if you reduce correctly. This paint glides over wet paint easy
@stevekafka

butsqueaker when your on a bike or car ,the first color has more time to dry,no problem, on a panel it should be tacky before adding the other colors
