So good. He said "Simplicity is not stupidity", which has stuck with me.

'Fills are for thrills, but groove pays the bills'. Thanks for sharing. Steve is the master!
He’s the epitome of a drummer. Providing a groove and keeping time & not just flying around the kit.
Clip 14 gave me total goosebumps
I love his style, simple, tight and technical is were it's at. Nothing worst than a drummer flying around the set with rolls.

The many styles/shades of drumming are not mutually exclusive. A fine drummer is like a fine piano player or singer. I've slowed my rolls w/time; out of age (66 yo) or injury (carpal tunnel, back problems). Jazz; R & B; Rock, is all good. Buddy Rich, Billy Cobham, Jeff Porcaro, Steve Gadd, John Bonham, Bernard Purdie, Steve Smith, Sonny Emory, Michael Derosier, Stewart Copeland. Eric Moore!!
That first shuffle has to be one of the best shuffles I have ever heard in my entire life.…. Shufflelonius Monk
Exactly what The Stones need. A reliable rhythm machine that they can lean on. Steve has got what it takes. You don't need to be a Thomas Lang to play in the greatest band ever.
Nobody drives a groove like Steve Jordan!
It is very easy to imagine this man playing with The Rolling Stones because of his time, feel and sound - good choice, the Stone boys!

Keith once said that he feels free on stage with Charlie drumming. So if he worked with Steve at his solo projects then he will have a lot of good time. I note that Steve drumming is so different from Charli but it is bluesy so fingers crossed.

What a funky blues man Steve is...
I am so impressed by his control of the hi-hats dynamics.
The old blues Brothers albums we’re just killer and filled with chops. Over the years Steve Jordan has evolved into the pocket prince.

nasty groove at funky joe's
This dude is locked in..... One of if not the best pocket drummer out there!!
Just to see my man swinging with Verdine White...... my word.
His playing is not virtuosic technically speaking but his feel is the thing. Ya need to have "good musical ears" for the music to be a consistently outstanding and complimentary drummer. Steve's that kind of feel good player from the heart that attracts many professional musicians and fans alike. Awesomeness🥁
So catchy and groovy, can’t wait so sit and play after watching this
Loved that vintage Rogers kit what a beauty
What a great compilation!
Holy shit. Where have I been. This guy is siiiick.
Keith was quoted saying "No Charlie, No Stones" He and Mick should honor that. There's a reason Led Zeppelin retired when John Bonham passed, he was not replaceable. Jordan is a fine drummer, so are many other professionals, but the Rolling Stones need to do right by Charlie and retire now. He was not replaceable. RIP Charlie Watts. 🙏

The groove and music from 7:07, who can not dance to this. Oh yes there is that 2.

He has to be my all time favorite drummer
Awesome Stuff!!!!! Two big thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻 from American One Productions Drum and Rehearsal Studio in NJ 🥁🥁
Such a mean shuffle
The man. The myth. The legend.
How that snare cracking so hard
@11:44 Just a great example of restraint. He could have played a million garbage notes during his solo but in the end he chose to stay in the pocket. This is why he is my favorite drummer.
@madziicube

he couldn’t, he is not that type of drummer. He is famous for grooving not soloing
Solid as a rock!
4:05. Plays more on kick, snare, an hihat than most drummers on a full kit.
Who can sit and not just groove to this?
Yep. Heard like 3 seconds and subscribed.
Mr. Meat & Potatoes. I read an interview, a number of years of ago, in maybe, DownBeat, with Jordan, and he described how to play in the pocket. I was doing a few blues gigs at the time and after I got that down, I was first call for most of the Blues gigs in town.
He’s a beast behind the kit!
THE MAN!
STEVE!!!!❤️
Groove in the soul 👊👊👊
10:10 probably the most funky funky joes has ever been
Very very good
To be a good drummer most people work on locking in with a band or a metronome Steve Jordan locks in with the sounds that he plays

Steve played with Keith Richards in The X-Pensive Winos. As long as Keef and Mick are able to function onstage, and Steve Jordan is available, the Stones will go on. Charlie Watts will be sorely missed, but he wouldn't begrudge Steve for replacing him.
