A big factor to consider were the mentors, such as Mike Markkula and Mike Scott that taught both Jobs and Wozniak on how to run a company since both Jobs and Wozniak didn't have cash to burn and the knowledge to run a company. Without Scott, Apple would have not gone public. Also, Wozniak's father also played a big role in Woz's life, since he was not only a Lockehead Martin engineer, but also a CalTech Graduate, who, while in the work force at LM, was able to take home his work and showcased it to Wozniak, and taught him the basics of electric circuitry (ex: semiconductors, resistors, transistors, etc) (via iWoz book). Also Woz was not the first to have made a computer with a type user interface but IBM already created one in 1973 (the IBM 5100) (via Before the Altair: the history of personal computing). The big difference was Wozniak was inspired to create arcade video games from being a arcade enthusiast and started creating his own games. Jobs rarely did an didn't do anything but reach out to venture capitalists and have mentors throughout his life. Also at 15:30 you forgot to mention how this was a Sony project initially but was failing due to the pricing structure, given the wonderful creation of Napster.

Thanks for your comment. Yes there are plenty of interesting items I've left out from the book, you've highlighted a fair few of them there. It wasn't a case of forgetting to mention them, I was just being selective to keep the length of the video down.

The Apple I was not sold for 16 years. That would be the Apple II.

Hi guys, Steve Jobs was a modern-day visionary and genius whose passion and creativity helped build Apple into the world's largest information technology company. This is an extended version of the video I first made on Evan Carmichael's channel: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eaFp1tOuqKTRopc.html Cheers

I disagree, he might have been a visionary but personally I think he was a prick, who had good self intentions. in the biography when Steve Jobs was diagnosed with cancer, Jobs had a rare form that was curable via surgery. he delayed that surgery for 9 months because he thought he could cure himself with his traditional fruitarian diet. I don't know about you but I would have taken the surgery immediately.
