When I was a kid, my dad drove for a refrigerated motor carrier based in Oklahoma. Well, when he came home, he parked the tractor trailer in his usual spot, unfourtenly the ground had been more saturated than he relized and he was unable to pull out. So, a wrecker was called. My dad told us kids to get in the house incase the cable snaped. Bein me, I compromised while he was working with the wrecker operator, and stood on the porch. I still rember seing those cables become quite taught, and the uncertainty of the sufficiency of the durability of the cables and after a bit, with the rucker puling the cables in and my dad doing his part to move the tractor trailer, he and the wrecker driver were able to free his rig.

@@mickromer6199 They don't run 100 tons through the Amazon because their trucks don't allow them to. In Brazil, they don't have 2 drive axles, they don't have graders to pull them off, nor do they run on flat. I can surely say that Australian truckers are living the good life compared to what Bolivian and Brazilian truckers face everyday.

@@afruge4535 A select few? There's a lot more than a select few driving around our outback. Perth to Darwin nearly 4 thousand kilometres, Perth to Adelaide 2700 kms, Adelaide to Darwin 3000 kms and barely a pot to piss in between any of those places. How many areas in the States can you drive that distance without going through at least a handful of decent sized towns and/or not being on an interstate or paved road?

Nah! Driven in remote parts of Australia, across Nevada from SLC, Utah to Reno and LV, and across Texas. I can't work out why they call Texas a "big state". Can drive across it in less than 12 hours. Probably have to go Alaska to see real isolation.
