STEVE BROWN On ACE FREHLEY's “10,000 Volts” Record: “He Had 100% Say Over Every Aspect On The Album”

Музыка

Ace Frehley's newest studio album, "10,000 Volts," has been met with critical acclaim and chart-topping success, due in part to Steve Brown's involvement as co-writer and co-producer.
Together, they forged a dynamic partnership and chemistry that shines bright on this release. The album showcases Ace's incombustible vocals and guitar playing as he delivers his signature sound, which only the Space Ace can do. Ace impressively leaps from the powerhouse opener of "10,000 Volts" to the poppy "Cherry Medicine" to the soulful balladry of "Back into My Arms Again." He closes the album with an epic guitar instrumental, "Stratosphere," in all its grandeur. Eleven songs in all!
Steve has also been busy with Trixter, which recently completed a tour with Mr. Big and a UK acoustic tour. They are now back in the US, performing loud and electrical. They also have an upcoming tour starting this May with Enuff Z'nuff and Pretty Boy Floyd. Ticket and VIP packages are available at www.paypal.com/instantcommerc...
Correspondent Robert Cavuoto spoke to Steve Brown about the creation of "10,000 Volts" with his guitar hero, and how he worked Ace hard to get the best results. Fans will be excited to hear Ace will release an expanded edition of 10,000 Volts with some new songs and alternate versions of existing songs. Steve also shares what it was like for Trixter to be joined by Pete Loran in Arizona on three songs during Trixter's set.

Nothing will be better than his 1978 solo album, a lot of lightning in a bottle was captured during the recording of that album in 1978.

I am both happy and sad when the greatest in the world want to keep going, but at some point they all need to step away and bask in the glory of being etched in music and cultural history forever. I love Ace, I have had Ace posters on my walls since 1978, still do... I am everything Ace Frehley. The title track on the new record is good, but the rest is barely ok, I wanted to love every song....I tried.... "protools" was the real star on this record. Organic, great records (78 solo record) are things of the past, like the "8 track", never to exist again. Protools has ruined the art of recording, engineering and producing.... no one knows what is real and what is just edited clips of parts. Protools and digital recording have made musicians lazy and less creative, in general...

I'D rather listen to those albums there are Aceisms all over those albums! Not even a Toggle switch on this album cmon man .

he played almost all the solos. There were simply a couple he left Steves demos. The first solo on 10,000 volts the other was either Fightin or Cosmic, I can't remember. I wasn't there no, but I know a person who was involved

The great Eddie Kramer produced Led Zeppelin, Hendrix etc. He had Ace play all guitars and bass on the 78 solo album! Ace played all the bass and guitars on His songs on Dynasty and Unmasked so stop the BUll shit! Yea on the Comet albums that was a band but not the solo albums?

Ace had a pert in it all. Where it got confused was the comment about the ideas. Most of the ideas were Steve; however Ace built off of them , added parts and changed parts - in other words co-wrote. What was released was not simply the ideas

First, "Ace's childhood friend, (Peppy Castro) his songs with Ace weren't good". Now Peppy is very talented. Back tracking. Contradiction. You're a great musician Steve, you are responsible for 10,000 Volts being so successful, but us KISS fans want to hear more Ace influence. I don't know, maybe we'll never get that again because Ace isn't capable anymore

This guy Steve Brown (also known as Timmy The Tooth) is just kissing Ace's a s s now because Ace was mad at him and called him up because he was hurting the album sales by saying he did 97% of the whole album on other podcasts, including the rhythm guitars. The album actually isn't doing good, it hit at 72 on billboard charts and it only sold 13 thousand copies (mostly vinyl variants) and then it fell off the top 200 within a week and now it's nowhere to be found on the charts. Ace is supposed to be the famous lead guitar player in Kiss, and in walking on the moon he didn't even do the solo. Kiss fans are not stupid, we know that this is not an Ace Album.
