@@aboutthemetal8783 And the story of Ashiem getting arrested in Austria I believe was hilarious, although likely not for him. He had ink on his hands from collecting money from their merch store for the band and the cops though he robbed a bank, and a dye pack exploded, so they held him in jail till they straightened it out and let him go...lol

If hes that good all these years and not "super promoted famous" it simply boils down to not selling out or not kissing the right ass. He doesnt care, just loves playing.

Steve Asheim is the Dave Lombardo of the original death metal bands, in my opinion hes a severely over looked drummer and musician, considering that he has wrote at minimum 50% of the entire deicide catalogue in itself is a fantastic achievement, and to boot hes a sound guy, I've been lucky enough to sit backstage and smoke a hash pipe with him ,and then going on stage to sing three songs with deicide (Glenn was held in customs or something) Jilly's rock world Manchester (I think) I was drunk as hell I still can't believe how Lucky I was, he gave me a deicide t shirt and work shirt, and a pair of his deicide sticks, I love having a look at them and remembering, I have used them when I've been playing my kit ,but I've put them up before they break, amazing memories.

Fucking love Steve's drumming and writing, been a deicide fan since the beginning, I saw their first tour in England, and their last, awesome musician he is. I really like how he doesn't use triggers on the toms and snare, he uses them on his bass drums but nothing else.

I've learned it: to play a funky beat without the funkyness: then it's a country feel drum beat also possible in the (death) metal area; as I can say Scott Burns used in earlier recordings a small room on the closed HiHat plus other tricks for the Deicide sound...awesome stays exiting if it's not ACDC's heavy rock...

I got to say, I'm glad the newest guitarist works at Dean guitars, it got Steve a nice sponsorship with d drum, and the look and sound of the power toms is a nice reminder that the drums of the 80s and 90s had nice deep toms. As a drummer I get that short stack Tom's allow you to set the kit up much lower, but I think it went to far in the other direction throughout the 200ps with extremely short toms, I personally don't like the sound you get from such a short Tom, I know it's a personal taste thing, I guess I'm just an old drummer who prefers the look and sound of the 80s and 90s deeper drums , Don't get me wrong,I'm not saying that all drums should come in square sizes like Nicko Mcbrains kit ,ie:- 6x6 ,8x8,10x10, and so on,but they do look so much better to my eyes. I like how Steve only uses triggers on the bass drums, and he's said he only does that because it makes it easier for him to get the whole kit mixed up properly, back in the day we used wooden beaters and a click pad on each bass drum, I prefer the sound of acoustic drums, there's just something special about hearing a quality drummer play hard fast metal knowing it's down to the talent of the drummer that you can hear amazing playing without any trickery, like Dave Lombardo for instance, he's never used triggers , and when you hear how hard and fast he played angel of death ,it's just a beautiful thing to witness.

Well I gotta subscribe to a channel that sits me at the side of the almighty incredible force of nature, known as Mr Steve Ashiem, he has been my number one favourite metal drummer since 1990! He's a sound fella too. Loving the size of the rack toms on Steve's new d drum kit, it's nice to see a modern made drum kit with decent power Tom sizes, like the kits of the 80s and early 90s, I've always preferred the sound and the look of power toms, they are a must for a metal band in my opinion.

what is a awesomizer the band? the plug-in: short room selected by AI at low balance (10%:90%, reverb to original volume-relation)...Glen would have a compression in the send-path...

It should be law... if you want to drum for any of these new paint by numbers bands flooding the industry with their constant gravity blasts and 290 bpm bullshit then you should be forced to watch steve, barker, cullross, hoglan, christie and understand feel- understand dynamics-understand that speed isnt everything and its way more impressive when that ripping part comes up it has more power then just beating us up with insane tempos
