I purchased a Sterling by MusicMan Sub Ray Bass second hand in pretty good condition & upgraded the Bass Pickup to a Nordstrand MM4.2. Check out my previous demo where we listen to the stock pickups and preamp & compare upgrading the pickup alone. In this vid I have finished the upgrade and have now installed a Nordstrand 2b Preamp with Treble & Bass boost & cut.
This is just a basic recording in my shop, going over the same riff and changing the settings so you can better understand the tonal range this preamp offers. I'm playing through a Nordstrand Starlifter Di powered by my Ashdown Evo IV Amp into my Genzler Nu Classic 2x12 Cab.
