    Weird how the step mum is very upbeat and action oriented when talking about Karlie and her disappearance, but when she's talking about being accused she starts crying. Classic self absorbed person.

    I believe the reason why she started crying when they started accusing her is because she was very upset that they were accusing her.

    Maybe it was a random kidnapping...a complete stranger took advantage of her being alone. It usually is someone close to the victim but no clues after two years???

    The girl had been acting strange for days and was actually going to see a counselor. She then has a terrible drug induced bad trip, takes off and an evil person picked her up. It’s very sad, but that’s really all there is to this story. Personal accountability seems to have gone out the window and everyone is playing the blame game.

    That's not all there is to this story and you should be more open-minded as opposed to dismissive because you think it's just a simple kidnapping. You don't know what this "strange" behavior looked like in person. What you're being told by people, especially Melissa who is considered suspicious, is probably not an entirely accurate representation of it. She has changed her story and details several times, so clearly not a reliable source of information, and since she's a potential suspect, it makes no sense why you'd trust her. Why has Zac recently committed domestic violence against Melissa if they're such a trusting family? Why has Karlie's brother been arrested for assault with a firearm and threatened to kill himself? The details about the drug Karlie took are vague, so even evaluating the trip she was having and how it would have affected her or how long it would have lasted is difficult. This is a remote area and small community. What kind of kidnapper or killer decides it's a good plan to be up at 7:00ish AM on a Saturday driving in this particular area looking for victims? Do you think that they are going to have a good chance at finding victims? No, because it'd be quite strange and unlikely to encounter someone walking in that area at that time, and especially considering it was about 28 degrees. That's another thing: it's 28ish degrees but we're supposed to believe Karlie went out walking wearing just a t-shirt and sweatpants? Yeah sure. What kind of drugs make you paranoid of people and paranoid of being followed or tracked by someone, yet at the same time you're going to go for a walk by yourself and get in somebody's vehicle? How would she have been picked up? The person would have been driving around 60+ MPH on U.S Route 6 where the disappearance apparently occurred and would have had to slow down assuming he even saw Karlie despite it being dark. What's he/she going to do? Stop the vehicle in the middle of a highway hoping nobody drives by, ask or threaten her to get in and she says yes? Bullsh**. Are they going to get out of the vehicle to chase her down even though there's a fenced area she could just run behind? Her neighborhood is just a mile away, she could easily run back, she could even scream and possibly be heard since it's such a rural area. There would have been signs of a struggle if that happened, but there are none. There are no reported footprints either.

    @@alec3979 i think we all have a good enough idea of how she was acting. suspicious? why? she went to pick up karli from a party where she was doing drugs and where she wasn't supposed to be. you don't think it's possible that an exact recount of the night/morning is is tough when a person having a bad trip has kept you up all night??? neighbors saw her wondering around and it is common knowledge that truck drivers use that highway, one of them could have easily picked her up. it is a VERY sad story, but there is no cover up here and it sucks to say, but KARLIE made very bad decisionS and it may have cost her her life. stop the blame game.

  • @alec3979

    @@gtrance3567 No, you're hearing second-hand accounts, and primarily all of the information is coming from Melissa who should not be trusted. "Doing drugs" is as vague as you could possibly be. There's a lot of people that do drugs and don't go crazy or become paranoid, it's the specific drug that was done which matters, and we don't know what it was. Because we don't know what the drug is nor the dosage, it could be entirely incorrect and improbable to assume she was somehow still high after 10 hours or it was severe enough to cause psychosis. I'm not expecting Melissa to give a perfect account, but switching your story or details is suspicious in conjunction with her other behaviors, like her body and facial language in Facebook videos, how she seems to have a hard time expressing actual grief instead of looking like she's faking it, or how she has recordings on her phone of Karlie that could help but she won't share them. Neighbors said they saw someone that looked like her, which is a big difference. One of them was in some sort of bathtub area that has glass windows, so that's not really reliable. They switched their stories even though their original wording was that they weren't sure who they saw. It was dark after all. I already explained the ridiculousness of her being picked up on that highway. She wouldn't have easily been picked up. She would have most likely ran away and screamed like she did to her boyfriend the night before, and the truck driver wouldn't have taken the risk to stop his vehicle, cause a massive scene, and risk getting caught trying to jump over a fence, chase Karlie down, then bring her back over the fence and carry her to the truck. That's what realistically would have happened. There's a very apparent contradiction in assuming she was in a zombified state and unable to reason it's a bad idea to get in someone's vehicle, when the drug reportedly made her extremely paranoid of people including her parents and boyfriend. She had the awareness to write for several hours the night before, she was able to communicate instead of speaking gibberish, she didn't walk outside without putting on her shoes and sweatpants so I doubt she was psychotic. You had no answer to what I said about it being 28 degrees and her walking out there with a t-shirt? Probably because you realize that it sounds unbelievable. Why don't you stop trying to decide this is an open-and-shut case just because you refuse to question what happened?

    @@alec3979 the consensus is that she was on a bad trip. at the same time, isn't all of this second hand? a lot of what you are saying presumes she was in a normal state of mind. she wasn't. when her step mom picked her up, she was already frantic and walking down the road. in that state of mind she would have left her house in the cold, and even gotten in another car. btw, i see kids in shorts and tank tops in the cold all the time. as far a melissa, it's all conjecture and suspicion. need facts. again, very sad, but there's only one person to blame here. moving on.

  • @alec3979

    @alec3979

    @@gtrance3567 yes you do need facts, not secondhand information from Melissa that you're using to validate your beliefs. I'm not presuming anything about her state, I'm saying that we don't know if she was in a zombified, psychotic, or delusional state such that it explains what apparently happened to her. There are contradictions in the story I've pointed out that would lead one to reason she possibly wasn't in such a state at the time she disappeared. Also, there are a bunch of unlikely possibilities that don't make sense to accept without further investigation. I'm willing to question the case, you're not. You're presuming she was in this confused state, and you're presuming she was kidnapped by some rando on the highway. You don't know what happened just as much I don't know and this case isn't solved last time I checked, so I don't know why you'd speak on it with such finality. The exceptions of kids you see out in the cold don't matter, as for one they're probably only intending to be outside for a few minutes compared to walking in it indefinitely like Karlie, and the point still stands that it's unusual. Many of the pictures that Karlie is in she wears a jacket even while inside. Meaning she probably doesn't like the cold or handle it that well, so the idea she'd only wear a t-shirt in the cold is even more questionable because it's out of character. And unless you have evidence that the drug was the reason, then you can't explain it away and that's why it needs to be questioned.
