Craziness. Salem's Lot is absolutely S-Tier, and not just because King has gone on record and stated it is his favorite novel. The characterizations and development of the town people is top-notch and only rivaled by The Stand & IT. People read the book synopsis and assume it is about a small town overtaken by evil creatures, but after a short amount of reading, the novel shows Jerusalem's Lot is a town of little evils to begin with. Adultery, greed, murder, alcoholism, baseless judgment, spousal abuse...etc. and all of it seen by the Marston House, watching down over them from the county's highest hill, like some kind of dark idol. Barlow is essentially Dracula, so I will give you that he is not the most creative of King's villains (and why I loved the appearance change from the old TV movie) but he is still very effective and sadistic overall. I also think it gave the most reasonable thinking for how to believe something like vampires or another monster of lore could exist, how we don't believe they could exist because we tell ourselves they simply can't, which doesn't make it true.

This video is really helpful, since my mother has always been a huge Stephen king fan, but her ex husband destroyed her collection out of spite. I never got a chance to read them before that happened. Now that I’m an adult, she’s looked at me and gone “any daughter of mine WILL read at least one! You can’t claim to love horror unless you read at least one!” I asked which one and omg I got a whole list, nearly one third the length of yours but still daunting without knowing which ones are series and which are stand alone

Fuego have similar taste like me, exepte two big differences - The Long walk and Running man are in may top 3 Kings books, Defently S for me. It`s strange how Fuego didn`t see greatness of those 2 novels. And there are absolutly not compare between The Long Walk and It and The Body. It is not a coming of age book, it`s dystopian last standing bloody game book, hrom witch are inspired a ton of books and movies, one of witch is Hunger games.

Held off on his better known classics that were made into movies until I started running out of King material and was pleasantly surprised to find out that they were so much better than the movies than I expected them to be. Cujo was a prime example. Held off forever cause I had saw the movie but the book was SOOOOOOOO much better. Doing so had me going back to read stuff like Carrie, The Shining and Children Of The Corn and the like. They were really worth the read even if you have seen the movies.

IMO… ranking Carrie so high and Rage so low is just plain hypocritical. They’re basically the same thing, except one has supernatural aspects. Whether it be shooting up a school or torturing and burning it down with your mind… it’s the same. Just because one is more realistically conceivable than the other should NOT grant it a higher rating. They are about attacking students and teachers in a school setting, you should rate them both equally. I love YOU Fuego

He didn’t turn anything political ... all he did was say Stilson’s campaigning style was similar to Trump.
