Space Alien I'm pointing out the fact that he's always on his hustle working for both networks and he's a reliable pundit that brings a perspective that we the audience need. The fact that he's black has nothing to do with it. Even though what he's saying is true and the police were overly aggressive with the BLACK MAN. And it can be classified as brutality.

It took a professional athlete for this to happen to wake up America?!? Police reform, extensive training both professionally and culturally, are way more important than a wall. C'mon, it is so clear something needs to be done, so lets do something.

TenThumbs Productions - "It took a professional athlete for this to happen to wake up America?" So what exactly did happen? My guess, and it is a guess, just like what you imagined happened, is that Sterling Brown told the cops he could park anywhere he wanted to, because he was Sterling Brown. The cops got tired of his attitude and lit him up. Just because you're good at throwing a ball through a hoop doesn't mean you're above the law.

there isn't a SINGLE thing these two players said that I've not heard countless times before - and, yea: nothing has changed, except we hear more about it today because of the internet..trust me: things like this, including Starbucks and Yale, ave been going on all along..the only reason I see for hearing so much about it nw is it generates goundswell - i.e. keeps the pot stirred, and someone somewhere is cashing in..other than that, there's nothing earth-shaking in this story.....hearing someone quote what year it is ''and we're still there'' invokes one question: when and why did all this about race get started; how far back in time does this go, and what's it's point - and why, one generation after the other, do people continue to pick up that mantle and carry it into the next generation - the next century????....

Just disgusting how these officers proved that a few of them need to be laid off since they had enough time to sit around questioning one person for 30 mins on a damn parking spot. Yup time to rebudget. Im just glad he is still alive cause they killing us for far less than this.

For a black man, all you have to do is be there and black and they will say you are aggressive, combative, and threatening. Simply walking down the street teaches every black man that truth. That cop obviously did not intend to simply give the man a ticket. That cop profiled Sterling as soon as he saw him. The cop will never admit it but I bet as soon as he saw the chain, the hair style, the cloths, and the confidence, he was thinking drug dealer and maybe there's drugs in the expensive car he is driving. The cop might have even thought that they could confiscate the car under civil forfeiture. That way the car becomes their money eventually. That's why he called for back up. That cop wasn't going to leave until he searched the car. Also, Sterling Brown was not intimidated by the cop. That pisses off cops. As soon as back up arrives and they surround you, expect an ass whipping. That's how they do. Once they surround you, they will create a reason to take you down. They'll tell you to take your hands out of your pocket for example and then before you can act, they are on you. All of them at once. Pulling you in different directions while telling you to stop resisting. Even if you let your body go completely limp they will say you resisted. Also, the cop didn't need Sterling's drivers license at all and should not have asked for it as he had no reason. Sterling wasn't stopped while driving. It was a parking violation. All the information needed is on the car. Even when Sterling showed up, the officer should have simply written the ticket and handed it to him or put it on the car. It's like when you walk up on a traffic officer writing you a parking ticket. While you protest and maybe ask the officer to give you a break, the officer simply writes the ticket and puts it on the car or hands it to you. Presenting your drivers license in this situation is not only unnecessary it is also a violation of police procedure and your fourth amendment rights. On his report, the cop probably made something up that suggest he had probable cause or reasonable suspicion to ask for ID. My advice to Mr. Sterling Brown is to make them feel this so maybe they will think twice before doing this to another black man. By the way, I have no confidence the officer will be fired or even disciplined in any way. They might promote him.

When officer asks to show your hands, and you refuse, they don’t feel safe since they start to worry you might be hiding a weapon. Thus the situation escalates, now they will force you to show your hands using force. Fortunately he wasn’t shot. Tasing is dangerous too, you could fall and hit your head in the ground. Why did he not follow police instruction to show his hands? They shouldn’t be forced to comment on a situation before the facts are known.

When a police officer asks to see your driver's license, take out your driver's license and show it to the officer. Should be an easy decision for you. He's tall and black, enough said. That's all it takes. Some will say, "he parked in a handicap space, that's illegal". Anything it takes to not have to admit an injustice occurred. Idk how many times we've all violated the law in small ways and not expected to have "the state" (police represent the state, so it's ironic that people who hate "big government" and the "deep state" control have no problem with this most oppressive of state control mechanisms when it affects minorities) physically harm us (run a stop sign, parked in handicap to quickly run into a store, run a red light, double park on a curb, jay walk, spit our gum onto a street. All illegal, but not deserving of physical punishment).

Why Kneel? Take this incident for example. Here is a completely empty parking lot, this fellow parks outside his parking spot and is tased. Turns out he's an NBA rookie and now the City of Milwaukee is embarrassed. Hope he sues the bejeezus out of the Milwaukee PD. No Excuse. Tasers are not toys. 1) Excessive force, disproportionate to threat. There is no threat evident on tape that calls for this level of excessive force. 2) Stun guns discharge 50,000 volts and overload, paralyze, and "freeze" the CNS. Tasers can also stop the heart. Permanent, longterm, CNS, heart, and brain damage may result. IMHO, The officer should be fired by the dept. for excessive force, and then charged by DOJ, under Federal Statute: 18 U.S. Code § 242 "Deprivation Of Rights Under the Color Of Law" "Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or to different punishments, pains, or penalties, on account of such person being an alien, or by reason of his color, or race, than are prescribed for the punishment of citizens, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both. If bodily injury results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death."

The cop used absolutely zero professionalism. He wanted to act like his daddy, get an apology or some bullshit. Give him his ticket, and go about your shift. He’s a grown man just like you. You escalated a parking infraction into what is now all this bullshit. An officer of the law is supposed to deescalate situations, not bring 5 more squad cars and 8 more cops to help you bully this dude into submission. This shit is getting out of ha d, and i guarantee that something’s gonna give.

All it takes is some getting to know one another. Extend a friendly hand to the local police department to come down and join you in a community organized event such as a BBQ. For those who dont accept the invitation, then you know where the problem lays. All it takes is for us to know the cops in our neighborhood and for them to know us. A friendly wave or smile can go a long way. It's a thought. Gotta start somewhere.

There was this one case where a cop executed a white dude in a hotel, it was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen. Even with cases like that, people (mostly white people) still won’t admit that there’s a problem with police in America.

What exactly is there to respect about a guy who parks across multiple handicap parking spaces and then refuses to follow simple clear directions by the police? If he'd just done as instructed from the first he'd have driven off with a parking ticket. The only real privilege he doesn't have is "not acting like a spoiled child" privilege. Park you car however you like, but don't go crying like a baby because the "big bad powiceman" then does his job and checks to see if you parked it like that because you're drunk off your ass. And when the cop is trying to do that, maybe do what this cop said and don't try to loom over the cop as if you could intimidate your way out of trouble. This was a cop, try to make a cop your bitch in any way and you're gonna have a bad time.

This whole thing could've been avoided if had done what the cop asked

I saw the video and the dirty cop, had no clue. Mr Brown should this man and the city to the full extent of the law. And that dirty cop should be prosecuted for assault. After the officer called what appeared to be 7 other officers, they found an excuse to attack the lawful citizen and stun him. Black man can't even go to the drug store for aspirin. This cop shouldn't be a cop. He was confrontational to the extreme. That suspect hadn't broken any major laws; he should have been given a warning or asked to move at the least or given a ticket at most. He explained to the cop why he'd parked erratically and what he was doing. Hell, people do worst than that in traffic on a Saturday afternoon in a suburban setting. The suspect hadn't done anything. All the dirty cop had to do if he suspected something untoward was file a report entering his license & plate and number. Cop continues going on and on being confrontational with the gentleman. Cop is trying to egg the gentleman on. The cop is honestly in idiot and shouldn't be a police officer. This cop should be someplace where he can't cause any harm. He's going to eventually place someones' life in danger if not murder someone. He's a "dirty" cop.
