I what to Steven gall university of motorcross 1984on cr 80 Rd Robert Scott was my teacher I remember he jumping a double jump on a cr250 it blow my mind. Great school Great memories

I'm from the USA however I had plenty of his photos plastered around the room. Was total FACTORY and kool as shit.. Seems the same today.. Fantastic memories.. Thnk and much Respect... ✌

My childhood hero .... Meeting Gall is still on my bucket list. I still have many of those Mr Motocross posters from bitd..

A great man. . .

As a kid I consumed everything I could on Gall, had the posters, loved Gunter and Vandenburg as well. Now I older, and have bought braces off Steve to keep the knees in something resembling working condition. Steve mentioned a massive understatement in saying the work they did in promoting. Thier work ethic, combined with a promotor the understands how to present a story (think Brock vs Johnson, brand vs brand) captures something that adds to the races, so when you turned up to watch, it was another layer to the already intense action on the points and the track. Its shows how forward thinking Vince was, the brands, Golden Breed were on another level in graphics and design, and how incredible sport can be with powerful a unified vision, commitment and work ethic of the riders. Amazing days, and awesome to hear SG talk. (I had a new (superseded) 490j as a 15 year old farm kid, my mates got used to not riding too close to the back of that in the paddocks)

The .late 70's and early 80's were a great time for motocross. Thousands of fans used to go to watch and the riders were real heroes.

I had the Mr Motocross poster on my wall as a kid for years. I loved the Mr Motocross series and that image was burned into my subconcious. I wanted to be Mr Motocross, that became my ideal of the male body. Great marketing. Loved Golden Breed as a brand and loved the athletes. Loved going to Wallan to watch the races.

The ending of the Mr Motocross series in Australia set back motocross in this country for a decade.....or more.

Wow now i feel old whatching Mr motocross back in the day stephen gall craig dack glean bell ect i still have old school phots of the supercross at heathcote park cant remember the yr i was in my mid teens great times im 49 yrs old now

Echo Valley is the best MX track in Australia imo. The Mountain Man MX was great bitd when they brought the 500's out

@@GYPSYTALES There will never be enough. Maybe i missed some but there haven't been many moto conversations on the poddy for a while. It's your thing though so you make what you want to. I'm off to listen until the GP tonight. I can feel it's Jack Miller's day. 🤞

I try to have a balance for sure. The reason there is moto content on the podcast is because it's one of my lifes passions. That being said there are some other areas of my life that leak into the podcast. Hopefully provide enough moto stuff for the people who mostly enough that. Dude I really hope Jack gets it done.

I remember back in like 2012 when Coonabarabran hosted a round and the track looked fkn amazing the riders seemed to have a blast. Then 1 weekend I went riding there and I asked when is the next Mx national here? And they said probly never again, it cost us too much money and we got nothing out of it. Why the hell is it costing the venue money to hold an event haha that just blew my mind when the owner of Coonabarabran told me that

Mr Motocross should return and the promotion side, they same as it was @@

MA puts all the money from Motocross to road racing. Motocross is a cash cow to the MA. Just to add, Kevin at the start was all for the sport but started lining his pockets to much, clubs in the end were only making money in the canteen. I know of one instance that he approached one Victorian track to hold a National, when they found out what was in it for them they said no.

Big surprise MA had a part to play in killing moto in Australia

Never heard of this.

Once you see pit biking become big, it’s a dead give away that Moto and the economy is about to take a dump

No promotion in ANY motorcycle racing in Australia and it is the club's fault as they are the promoters of the sport. . . . . . Ole Vince was/is clever. . . .
