    Only Stephen Fry could explain this whole medical process as dignified and cleanly as he did.

    I adore how humble Fry is, he acts like he’s unimportant and nobody would care, but when a video is released on it, he gets 1 million views in a day! Shows what an icon and national treasure Fry really is.

    Did you not watch the video? He made this months after he found out, because he didn't think anyone would care before, plus he didn't expect this type of reception, just thought it would be a small update video.

    One of my friends had cancer, he was in his twenties (very unlucky). The cancer treatment caused him to have a stroke and he basically lost function of one side of his body, leg, arm and vision were affected. And because life loves to kick you when you are down, his girlfriend felt more sorry for herself then him when he got the stroke. She started to show the classic signs of planning to leave him, right after the stroke. Not to look like a totally terrible person, she stayed a few months before leaving him. She is a disgusting person, I knew it the moment I met her but I said nothing because he seemed happy and content. This all happened many years ago but I still am thinking about it and second-guessing myself about it. All those lovely "what if" scenarios. What do you think? Would he have been better off without her when he got the stroke? On the good side he survived and have a pretty good life because of his friends and family helping him constantly now but I still worry about him. She even deleted his facebook account a few weeks after she had left him. It were never confirmed but it is her style and she knew his login information. All those pictures and memories gone. Probably because there were pictures of her and him in the hospital. Removing the evidence of what she really is.

    Thanks so much for your message Stephen and may your recovery continue. It would be rather nice to have you around for a long time yet. You've given me a reminder, I'm a young and healthy 75 year old, I think I'm doing well but I'll bring it up with my doctor whom I'll see in just over a week. One can't be too careful with cancers of any type although I dealt successfully with one about 45 years ago. A slightly older friend of mine had some kind of treatment for a prostate problem and he didn't experience any pain at all, he was rather amazed at how painless the procedure was. Many thanks for your alerting us older guys to the problem.

    Full wishes for a speedy recovery. We are born and bred of Norwich with the wish to entertain while providing information to people, something that I feel was inspired by yourself. This is an important message, and I hope more men will be open to getting checked. It has always been taboo but I suppose it's messages such as this which may well make it a lot easier for us to talk about these problems and admit to them. If one thing cancer is good at, it's hiding away from discussions because of its nature. Perhaps going forward we can all reflect and be more open about it.

  • @labbadab

    @labbadab

    6 жыл бұрын

    @DYKGaming, Bless you love - You have summed that up beautifully and I believe it highlights the truth that males in general must check themselves like us women do and, of course, never be afraid to visit their Doctor for regular checkups as well as if they feel something is not right, as like Stephen himself shows can prove vital in detecting anything astray or maybe not otherwise noticed as important healthwise to a male. - if he had not gone for his annual influenza injection, then his cancer may not have been found sooner and action taken so swiftly and could have progressed even more, perish the thought. Stephen is indeed a very special gentleman in so many ways, one of our national treasures, I love him to bits, bless his heart. And yes, I wish him a full recovery but just as importantly, I like you said, agree totally that he has really helped ( judging by the males within this comment section ) how immensely important it is to openly speak about male health and any kind of health issues such as prostrate cancer etc, men's health in general like women's too, should not be a taboo subject or a something hidden away, but openly natural to discuss and, without embarrassment.

I’ve come, over the years to become infatuated with you, the same way I am with Peter Ustinov, and a number other brilliant individuals, some of which I do not know their names, but their work I was given so much to the world. You still have so much to give the world, not only in entertainment other facets of civilization, or that which makes civilized. Please, take care of yourself and remember you are deeply loved. I am delighted and comforted, that you have the support of your husband, without whom your road to recovery would be made far more arduous.

If there was any man deserving a knighthood it is you. I also owe you a massive debt for how your openness has helped my daughter on her life journey, as I know it has many for many thousands of other people. I too found real happiness later in life, and I fully understand your comment about enjoying life at the moment. Well done Stephen Fry for putting Prostate cancer in the spot light. It has to be one of the biggest killers of men in the U.K. By our very nature, we tend to ignore the possibility of anything being medically wrong with us. If just one man is inspired to visit his G.P. after watching this video... and as a result has his cancer detected and treated in time, then this video has been very worthwhile. I wish you a speedy recovery Stephen.

    Half Slovakian, and it was his Slovakian grandfather who looked almost exactly like him. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I'm just saying that sometimes one's perception of what nationalities look like might be a bit unclear. And indeed, I live in Prague, and I do sometimes see a 'Fry-esque' type of facial phenotype walking past. Once, and that once was amongst the most climactic moments, I saw a ticket inspector on the subway (there are no ticket machines per se so they tend to do random inspections on the passangers). This man, a chiseled face, crooked nose, looking past all the passerbies as the escalators that go up from one of the central station's hall begin: the look and stance was exactly like that of Stephen Fry in the Homeless Busker vs. Policeman sketch - arms folded behind, head and body of this extremely tall figure leaned very forward as he with a significant brow upon his uneven eyes and precise, angry eyes tried to discern from the subconscious behaviour of the passengers upon seeing him which one could be the culprit that dares not to buy a ticket and rides free. Under that yellowish tint of the station lights, the city passing by, this motionless obelisk of a man, massive in stature, stood by as if stopped in a moment of explosive rage. "My life is one of expensive food and luxury yachts, it's 1989 and you all are enemies of our culture" would only be proper for him to shout. As he stood there in his large leather coat hanging to the ground, I understood that I have met a different Fry. A Fry that could have been. A Fry that perhaps, somewhere, is, and comes to light only in certain moments. A Fry of haunt, a Fry of deepest rage and a Fry looking past the masses. Seeing the evil of men. Anyway. Tl;dr you meet people that look eerily like Fry here sometimes, it's no wonder that he's half from here.

English people claim good looking facial features as "quintessentially" English when that might not be the case. Whether that is part of a colonialist mindset I'll leave be. :D

    For the atheist, what is the purpose of recovery from cancer if he is just an animal that should have euthanasia or abortion? If you're just a piece of meat without a soul or purpose in life? Think about it. This is what atheism teaches.

  • @citizenguy

    If Stephen Fry leaves atheism out of his comedy, then I will leave religion out of the comments. I care that Stephen Fry has a crooked nose. What happened to him? Was he in a car accident? Did he make a bad joke, and then someone punched him in the face? It's ok to bring up atheism when you want euthanasia, abortion, or polygamy. But when your idol is suffering from cancer, then it's suddenly not ok to bring up atheism? Are you scared of your own sad reality? Do you think the "dark truth" is that we will all end up as black nothingness? Is that what you believe?

You believe we're just like chimpanzees that are screeching at each other. You can try as hard as you can to ignore me, but you can't escape the fact that you are an atheist dipshit.

    if gays admitted they are "abnormal", id be cool.......but we will end up "full circle"...mark my words...in the next 10-15 years youll have examples were straight men are "shamed" for being into women (and I think the whole "mee too" agenda will act as a Catalyst for this and play into it)......you might find an example where (when governments keep records of our web searches),any prominent media/public figures who speaks against government marxist agenda can potentially have their searches "leaked" and be shamed for (for example, googling a pair of tits).........so youll have examples of straight men being shamed and publically humiluated in public for being straight and liking a pair of" big tits"(or whatever the fuck he is into)...............................we will come "full circle" and the gays (who for years have been saying that they shouldn't be "shamed" for being gay) will be the biggest hypocrites of all by not rushing to the defence of a straight man who will be publically shamed for his sexual preferences (which he cant control,, apparently)...................................................but please,,if I'm wrong, please give me some assurances that the scenario ive presented wont come to fruition? it will help me sleep better.........................better yet,,,why isn't FRY speaking out against REAL issues like governments keeping all our web searches?..this is a massive infringement on our privacy rights....................im telling you,,FRY is a FRAUD!
