Joel Embiid missed forty three games (revised from original comment of thirty) of regular season with a knee injury. Before the injury, they were the 3rd seed. When he came back, 76ers won eight remaining regular season games.

@@kai6xx With Joel Emibiid in lineup 31-8. Without him 16-27. Obviously this had EVERYTHING to do with their seeding this season. Simple FACTS/ METRICS, which apparently, you are allergic to. Meanwhile, if you do watch the games, perhaps you notice that Embiid is wearing a brace on his left knee. His lateral movement is affected as well as his overall mobility. Hence, the reason Robinson blocked his shot twice in game 5.

He didn't shoot as much, he set up his teammates. With 10 assists and 1 key mid range shot late in the 4th quarter. He was diving on the floor for a loose ball, he contributed by getting rebounds, and setting up guys and then Tyreese Maxey took over.

I hate to say it, but Maxie is made for it. I think Nurse hit the line up with Maxie, Embid, Oubre, Harris and Batum. They have a BIG size advantage with them on the floor and the Knicks struggle with length. I didn't see World Free or George McGuiness out there, so Philly 'aint choking this time.

A LOT had to go wrong for the Knicks to lose that game. Maxey got away with a huge travel but that doesn't excuse Mitch having a three shoved down his throat twice. With one coming with a boneheaded foul. I've always screamed the loudest on how bad Mitch is when he is not under the rim. Both times hammered that statement home in that last game.

I'm a diehard Sixers fan, but also a realist. While I think my Sixers have a pretty good chance of winning tonight, w wouldn't the NBA love a game 7 between two teams, that are rivals, and where there hasn't been any blow outs? The NBA is crazy with a 9pm start time for a east coast game😢

Embiid does this every year. He always gets sick as soon as the playoffs starts and completely forgets how to play basketball.

The pressure is on the Knicks for this one. If they lose the series after being up 3-1 it would be a huge embarrassment.

I'm a sixers fan, but the Knicks are going to win the series regardless of if it goes 6 or 7. It took an utter miracle to win game 5, and there is no way Philly is going to be able to steal another game at the garden should this go 7 games.

The Knicks literally mugged Maxey to death in game 2 and got just as much of a miracle and unjust win as you're claiming game 5 was for Philly. So, really, Philly should be up 3-2 in this series instead of New York. Do you people even THINK before you type things?

Listening to these guys you would think that outside of Brunson, Embiid and Maxey there were no other significant players. I would argue that Hield was probably the second most important player for Philadelphia in keeping that game close. For New York, without key contributions from Divincenzo, Anunoby and Hartenstein this series is going back to New York. It’s a team sport and despite how good Brunson played without those other contributions this is a loss.
