The entire interview was pointless; just an excuse to get his mom on the show. Of course Stephen A Smith isn't sorry about what he said. Durant going to the Warriors WAS weak. Leaving the Thunder wasn't weak; a superstar would get frustrated playing alongside a ballhog like Westbrook. He could've gone to a rising team like the Celtics or Wizards that's missing a Kevin Durant. Lebron > Durant. Durant could do whatever the fuck he wanted when he has two of the best shooters in NBA history and the DPOY alongside him. Not to mention a bench unit which by itself could make the play-offs. Lebron had to do more when all he had was Kyrie Irving. All his additional help was inconsistent all series. Where the fuck was Kevin Love?

LBJ and the rest of the Cavs took "vacations" in the regular season, didn't even bother to compete for 1st seed, because they didn't need it. No one is talking about the "competitiveness" of the East though, it's like the only problem is the Warriors super team...

It's not like KD wanted to play for OKC growing up. he was drafted first by Seattle and then the organization wrongfully moved to that city. So it's not about some perceived loyalty to his city. He stayed loyal for that long because he was playing well and he's a good person. But at some point it's gotta be about himself before others. I bet if Washington was a contender level team he would have gone there, but they weren't, so although he might like it there he knows it wouldn't get him his championship. I honestly don't think that him losing to GS in the WCF played that big of a role other than denying him a chance at the finals. It was seeing them also collapse to Lebron and seeing the fit and the potential they had combined together that made him decide. In retrospect GS really was the only choice. It just so happened they won 73 games that year and was on the cusp of a championship. But this year proved he can go to a team as great as that and take over. No piggy backing

Last i herd was drayman was overrated curry didn't deserve the MVP in any of the years and was "just a shooter" and KD can't beat lebron. And Since y'all say this is the 73-9 team that Durrant joined. LBJ and the Faggaleirs lost to a team that blew a 3-1 lead lol

Weakest move in NBA history, he joined a team who made it the the finals two years in a row. When Lebron joined the heat they didn't make the finals since shaq, lebron then left the team he brought to the finals 4 years in a row to join a team who couldn't even make the playoffs. Lebron is a game changer kd is a scorer. Kd will never be on Lebrons level, kd will never be top 5 of all time he will never be in the conversation for goat. He will be another forgotten superstar he will always be remembered as a guy who couldn't win a ring on his own. It's sad that it took all that fire power to take down the king, who averaged a triple double in the finals, lebron is the goat no matter how many times he loses in the finals. No other player in recent history has made it to as many finals as him. Try and argue but I'm just speaking facts 👌🏼

LeBron went to Miami with EVERY intention of stacking the deck to run off multiple championships by playing with 2 other All-Stars, one of which won a ring recently (Wade) and was a Top 3-5 player at the time. "Not 1, Not 2, Not 3".. were the mans words himself. They knew what they were doing, and the backlash was very similar with former players saying they'd NEVER go play with their biggest competitors to win championships. Dont act like what Bron did was a power move just to shit on Durant. Would Lebron have joined that Heat team without Wade/Bosh? Answer is no. Would he have came back to Cleveland without Kyrie and the trade for Love being arranged? Nope

Why would Lebron leave a team that made it to the ECF routinely to join a 1st round team? Obviously thats because Bron, Wade and Bosh all planned to play together, that was the whole point. It's not the same as joining a 73-9 team but it's obviously STILL stacking the deck and STILL building a superteam with the intention to run off multiple titles

  • @PeterBarkerMusic

Jackie Richardson I agree with this, but the issue I have is that LeBron was clearly not going to win in Cleveland the first stint he was there. That team was awful outside him ,and he carried them for years. If he stayed there he most likely still wouldn't have a ring, and he needs rings to be a validated top player of all time (in most people's eyes). Durant had a chance to win a ring with OKC, and jumped ship immediately after losing to the Warriors. Fair enough, Westbrook can be selfish at times, I witness that watching the OKC games as an OKC fan, but Durant had a chance. It doesn't really matter now in retrospect because Durant is on the Warriors for the foreseeable future and probably wins like 4 rings.

Hold the phone, LeBron James going to the Heat was NOTHING compared to KD to GS. Kevin Durant was already amazing, going to a record-breaking, history making 73-9 team. A team that he was tearing apart, and then blew it! LeBron James' Cavs couldn't even make it a past the 1st round of the play-offs, and the Heat at the time were 47-35, not 73-9! So he said I'm going to Miami for me, and then once the Cleveland rebuilds, I'm going back to bring back a championship to this city... WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HE DID! He didn't go back on his word like Durant. Period(Spurs fan)

It's not KD's job/responsibility/obligation to make the league more "competitive." He had an opportunity in front of him to get the things he wants in life, and that's what EVERY MAN should do. When you pass on opportunities because of the wrong reasons _(e.g., peer pressure, public opinion, etc.),_ then you're giving away the limited amount of power/control you have to direct your life where you want it to go. In other words, you lose in the game of life.

Again, KD has no obligation to make decisions about his own life just to make you or anyone else feel good inside. Personally, I wanted him to stay in OKC b/cI really thought he had a shot to make it to the finals with Westbrook. But, I still applaud him for making the decision that he thought was best even though it would upset a lot of people. And, if you want to react emotionally to a decision he made to reach his goals, then that's really just your problem.

Not only that, but he choked away a 3-1 lead over the supposed best team ever. If they got swept, it would've been different. But they basically beat down that team. In my mind they beat them and then basically choked, so I don't even consider the Warriors a really great team. Because we certainly don't consider that OKC team, to be an all time great team. Nor do we consider the Cavs who eventually won to be all time. This years team is very good, but IMO wouldn't have beaten Shaq and Kobe. No defense for Shaq. They would deplete the bench with fouls. Shooting bad 3's wouldn't matter. Plus that team could defend pretty well. I don't see this as the same as Lebron mainly for the reasons I stated. Lebron's move was weak, but we now know it fits who he is. He's not a Jordan or Kobe type player. He is unique, but not as mentally tough.

LeBron going to Miami was not lopsided at all. The team was formed to compete with the Big 3 in Boston. They didn't go sweeping through the entire conference. Indiana, Boston, and even the Bulls made out to be some great series. People say it's the same to feel good about the move or to try justifying it, but it's nowhere near close. He joined a team that beat him and set an NBA record. Not even a discussion.

Bron formed a team with more fire power then anyone in his conference, KD didn't play on the 73 win team, Many parts from that team were traded to get KD, & no way does GS win this title without him Klay & Green were sub par pretty much all post season. End of the day Brons championship heat had 4 allstars this GSW team has 4 same shit different way.

I agree. This playoffs was atrocious. I used to spend the 1st Saturday and Sunday of the playoffs watching every game. This year I couldn't have cared any less. I watched, but was terribly unimpressed. The league is really stinking to high heaven right now, and the more super teams that are formed the worse it will get. Along with the analytics guys saying everyone should shoot 3's, is actually hurting the game. Steph and Klay are meant for the GSW system, other teams should play to the strengths of their talent. Remember when everyone thought it was impossible to beat the Shaq and Kobe Lakers without a very good big. Well they got blasted by a team with a 6'9" undrafted center. Hopefully teams will wisen up and not continue to be copycats.

I've been the biggest KD fan since 2011 when I started watching the NBA and last night was perfect for me. I cried like a baby when he bent over at half court, this is the first time in 25 years favourite my team or player won the Championship in any sport (NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB). It didn't happen the way I imagined it (winning with harden and Westbrook in OKC) but last night was still a magical night for me. Congratulations Kevin you did it my man

Marc NY when you're a grown-ass man and you let your mother fight your professional battles for you, that's shameful. I could see if the media was attacking his parents/siblings/kids/whomever and she felt the need to say something, then it's personal and she's got a right to say something. He doesn't have to say ish then. But my parents would NEVER stick their nose in my professional business...because they know I could handle it myself. He's showing himself to be a puss who can't handle criticism. Trying to get your mom to be a quasi-celebrity because it's "beneath" you to say anything. GTFOH. The only reason professional sports has any type of money is because of media exposure, advertisements and endorsement deals. How about you go to professional lacrosse or billiards if you don't like the attention then. Handle it like a man. Fire back.

I kinda agree that instead of diluting gsw's strengths to allow competition, the rest of the teams just gotta get better. With such an all star team, the level of playing in the NBA will definitely get higher. As seen through cavs, they got so much better during the finals through the competition individually and as a team. Believe that come next season, the competition is going to get tighter.
