In all honesty, I haven't seen a single game in any sporting event, ever, that was better than that final. Messi and Mbappe was Prime Jordan vs Prime Lebron in a Game 7. The substitution of Angel Di Maria changed the course of the game. Mbappe is up next, but Messi completed the greatest footballing career ever, after winning the greatest world cup game ever played.

Mbappé is already number 1 in the world, the game changed when Dechamps took off Hernandez and Greizmann who were both beyond useless. How he let play 71 mins is a crime. They should've been subbed off along with Giroud and Dembele in the first half. Camavinga and Coman changed the game, Coman was taking on the defenders for fun and Camvinga was playing LB and was x10 better than Hernandez.

I think it wasn't just the game that was too good, but it was the event/occasion that made it spectacular. There have been better games tbh, like the Barca come back against PSG, or Liverpool kicking Barca out of the UCL etc. But the stakes were highest this time, it was the dreaded WORLD CUP. Really loved the spirit of both the teams and nice to see some young talents on the pitch (I actually liked that Dybala got some minutes to play in the end..must be a fairy tale for him :)

In 2014, Messi and Argentina reached the World Cup finals only to lose it. In 2016, Messi missed the penalty in the Copa America final that resulted in defeat again. Now has Messi won both the Copa America and the World Cup. In 2021, Mabappe missed the penalty that resulted in France crashing out of the Euro Round of 16. And I have been watching football for almost 12 years now, and have tried to follow 4 World Cups (including this one) very closely, but this by far is the greatest finale I have ever seen. Mbappe is a beast. Runs like crazy, shoots like a machine. Felt sad for him, but at least he already has one world cup, so that's some relief. For me it was the best final ever...apart from '66 when we won it, but as I was too young I never saw it anyway, so that's my crew outta the window. I have seen the goals many times since though, even the one we scored which in all honesty probably wouldn't have counted in these VAR(ce) days. And one of the best comps also, at least after an often lacklustre first eight days culminating in in stink of a match against, on the day, a far better US team who I thought were unlucky to be held 0-0.

When Stephen A talks about soccer, it gives the vibes of a high school presentation about a book he haven’t read. He didn’t know how to say Mbappe. The biggest sport in the entire world with the most viewers, and he didn’t learn how to say Mbappe? Do u know how many times Mbappes name was said during the game? Jesus. Stephen is great at his job.

They can be but a few things, gotta have star players and can’t play so hard during regular season games because the risk of injuries but most finals can be like that but that’s the greatest game I’ve ever seen too I swear

I love it. Both star players played great yesterday. Difference were Mbappe didn’t get much help from his teammates yesterday. It was Mbappe vs Argentina. He almost beat Argentina all by himself yesterday. Soccer is in great hands having Mbappe as the best player in the world for years to come. I’m also happy that one of the greats in Lionel Messi at least got to a World Cup Finals and won it for his country. His legendary career is complete.

He was non-existent for 80 minutes, France's subs were the game changers. Mbappe scored in 2 minutes of madness from Argentina, after that it was end to end, and the keepers then played their part.
