Steph is the most overrated player guy has no defense, has no handles, turns over the ball on and can't carry his team to the final single-handedly like LeBron or giannis. All he does is shoot threes. If he's having a bad night, he's basically deadweight to the team this year. The only reason why they're even in the finals is due to people like Jordan pool and other people on his team that are averaging 15 to 20 points a night

Klay was also hurt in Toronto. In Cleveland, Draymond was suspended for a game and Steph was ejected in another. Edit: To be clear I’m mentioning these because Steph seems to be the only who gets his accomplishments downplayed because of circumstances. I pointed these out as not excuses as to why they didn’t win, but to point out Steph and the Warriors have also had circumstances that helped opposing teams. It does affect Curry in the rankings because he doesn't have a real ring. In 2015 the Cavs missed two of their top 3 players and Steph particularly underperformed in that series and he didn't even win finals MVP. 2016 was an all time choke job. 2017 and 2018 had Durant while playing way worse Cavs teams. If the warriors beat the Celtics and Steph performs well, that would absolutely be a huge needle mover for his legacy and in the all time rankings.

He doesn’t control the voting, therefore he wasn’t able to make them give him the trophy. Andre Iguodala averaged 16 points in that series, which is not bad at all. But he only won MVP because most voters cited the fact that the series shifted dramatically once he was inserted into the starting lineup. Am I opinion, Stephen Curry still should’ve won the MVP trophy that year. The fact that he didn’t shouldn’t be a knock against him.

These analyst never talk about how the Cavaliers coach said that Curry was the best and most dangerous player and that’s why he was double-teamed there is no shame in Kevin Durant being a lesser player then curry. Curry is just a better player it’s OK. Curry actually goes up in statistics in the finals but it goes against the narrative

lmao I've had this Curry debate with many people in-person; no one has stopped me yet, so I dare anyone who agrees with Doggie to try: In 2016, Curry sustains an MCL Sprain in game 4 of round 1. For the rest of the postseason, he struggles to drive left, always having to shuffle his feet and push off his left leg (which isn't natural). He can't sprint around screens or back-cut effectively. He looks regressed physically and I watched those games. He resorts to being a sharpshooter the entire playoffs and when he tries to go left, he redirects back to his right. In those Finals, the Cavs defensive game plan was to force him left every time knowing he couldn't and double teamed him. The Warriors went up 3-1 because they straight up were the better team. It took a bogus suspension of their DPOY in a pivotal game 5, their 7ft rim protector Bogut being out for games 5, 6, 7, and the reigning finals MVP having back problems to shift the momentum back to the Cavs. I give them all the credit for making the comeback but I don't use that to diminish Curry. He did as well as he could, took contested 3s all postseason, lived and died by them, and lost in Game 7 of the NBA Finals by 4 points. All while playing through injury and not making it an excuse. Compare him to his first ever NBA finals where he was healthy and its like night and day. I DARE U TO LOOK UP: Stephen Curry Full Game 4 Highlights at Cavaliers 2016 Finals - 38 Pts, 6 Ast, SICK! Now go to the 2:32 mark BTW from now on when this 2016 take is brought up by any of these 'analysts' IM POSTING THIS SAME COMMENT

I really don't like the black hole conversation about injuries. You can talk about all the different finals in the last 10 years where there have been important players injured on the non-winning side. Last year the suns were the beneficiary of kawaii being injured. And then the bucks were the beneficiary of Devin Booker being injured. Part of winning a championship in any sport is a combination of not only being a great team but also being fortunate to be optimally healthy at the right time. That's just part of what goes into winning and championship. So you can go around and around all day long talking about this injury and that injury. As a matter of fact I think you could take any championship team from any sports League and make an argument as to why you could put an asterisk by their championship. Whether it's they played an easy conference, benefitted from injuries, a bad call, etc etc.
