Also Eli had to win other playoff games to get into the Big game. Stephen A keeps using WL stats against Eli but why didn't he bring up his 8-4 post season record which makes him 125-121 record overall?? Because it doesn't fit Stephen A. Smith narrative.

    @@ladanian560 lol. So Eli is on the field by himself?? It's a team stat. There are QBs in the Hof with losing records. It's a lazy take to use against a QB. Eli is a lock for the Hof because of his post season accolades. Even with that record I'm still taking Eli's career over 97 percent of his peers during his era.

    Not really. I mean I get the analogy but the reason why ppl put eli in that HoF debate is because of who he beat. In 2007 he beat tony romo, brett favre and the undefeated patriots. In 2011 with a terrible defense and horrible offensive line he beat matt ryan, 15-1 aaron rodger's packers, the 13 win niners, and then tom brady and gronk in the SB. Without eli manning the history books would look a lot different. If the giants don't beat the patriots brady has 5 rings is undefeated in SBs and is widely considered the goat from as early as 2011. Or the cowboys or packers make it to the Sb changing those legacies. Or aaron rodgers makes it to back to back SBs and wins with a 15-1 team. Stafford did great this postseason but eli's runs were more historic bc of who he took down along the way.

Eli has 2 of the most incredible playoff runs the NFL will ever see and on top of that ended up being top 10 in most qb stat categories while playing for a bad giants team from 2011 until he retired. Eli even carried a bad overall giants team into the playoffs in 2011 and everything came together during that post season run.

    You're strongest argument is that Eli beat TB twice. Aside from that, look at Eli's playoff career. 18 TD-9 INT. That's comparable to Staff's 13 TD-6INT. Staff's performance in the playoff this year was phenomenon with a 9 TD to 3 INT. Of those 4 Pro Bowls that Eli made it to, 3 of those years were high in INT's. (29-16 in 2011, 26-15 in 2012, and 35-14 in 2015). Staff's stat this year was 41-17 and didn't even make the Pro Bowl cut. Likewise, Russell Wilson's stats from 2021 (40-13 with a similar team record 12-4) was able to make the Pro Bowl with those numbers. I get people are using accolades against Staff but I think Stafford gets the short end of things. You have guys like Mac Jones making it as an alternate. Mac Jones literally have the same amount of Pro Bowl appearance as Staff. I'm not even factoring in Stafford's circumstances with the Lions. This is just based on this year's performance.

    Exactly the point I have been making for the last 8 years about Eli. It’s clear since the history of the QB position is weak in the 80’s and 90’s 4K passing was considered a great yards barometer for a QB and if you threw for 3k it was considered a good season. Today with all the rules to assist said position and said side of the ball the QB position is flourishing and now everyone is claiming you can’t win without a great QB. The Giants defense won us two Super Bowls with Manning as QB yet as Molly and nearly every other person who watches football tell it we won only due to the QB. That’s the Agenda from the league and the media and not the facts or reality!

  • @kerke4639

    @kerke4639

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yeah, for the past years the format has been a QB playing at a great level gets you to the Super Bowl but a great defense wins you it. This year with the Rams sacking Joe Burrow whenever they want, last year with the Bucs demolishing Mahomes and that attack, the Pats beating the Rams in a great defensive game which was the lowest scoring Super Bowl, the Giants with both of their runs. The Ravens and Broncos recent win. I mean even in Philly’s win, the game was decided by a defensive play. The first team to make a big defensive play won the game. And in the Chiefs game, the 49ers dominated them in the 2nd and 3r quarter when the the Chiefs couldn’t do anything on offense and after they scored for their 2nd TD and after on Chiefs played great defense to keep the 49ers scoreless. And in the 28-3 game, not only did the Pats offense took over but the defense allowed them to score 25 unanswered points dominating a historic offense led by Julio and Matt Ryan. Your defense’s talent and their performance is the deciding factor of the Super Bowl most of the time, especially in the recent years since the game slows down and big plays do not occur as much and it comes down to stops made.

    Why is with this lame topic if Eli and Matthew becoming a HoF cause of their regular season and post season games? Neither of these two don't belong to be in the HoF anyway. HoF has to be someone who shattered records throughout of his NFL career tenure with/without S.B. and MVP title. I agree 100% to what Richard Sherman said, the HoF nowadays standard has been set too low. 😆😂😂 Every sports definitely needs to set a higher standard. It's embarrassing. That's like saying a sport athletic winning a single gold medal becoming a superstar just cause she/he won their first medal. 😆😂😂 HoF is just a laughingstock nowadays cause anyone can get in.
