As far as I know Chauncy have a ring and Melo still doesny have ,not judging melo I like his game im a fan of him but what chauncy said is really the truth about him also he was a big reason melo played in wcf beacause of his leadership and experience so don't underestimate the man who was a big part of a little success that your favorite player had.

@@grandfury5609 true....also they use the term great business man very loosely.....if a star player holds out for more money & is already making more than 80% of the population but finally the season starts & the team gives I'm $3 million dollars more then THAT makes him a great businessman???? I say NO ,he's a rich spoiled brat & ungrateful to a degree....now I'm not talking every player but just saying if a player is making $15 mil but is holding out for $18 mil....I dont see how that relates to a great businessman.....In all honesty NONE of these players came to the game with any money ,I know they are the stars but if there was no NBA it would be alot of talented Walmart stockers making $15 dollars an hour...... I call a great businessman someone who makes a major decision or buys property that people say is a waste & turns it into a cash cow....I love NBA,NFL & MLB but I dont see how a kid with a multimillion dollar contract holds out for a few more million is considered a great businessman.

What people don't understand.... Melo has been the man since he was 8... His style of play has got him to the highest level in thr game and has won him a chip as a freshman in college. He is surrounded by yes men/women and he is young black and rich. He has never thought about taking the back seat... Co-signed for 20 plus years, his ego is certified that he's the man. If you worked hours and hours in the gym shooting everyday for a loooong time and you know you can score and end up not getting the numbers you think you could have it gets to you and you think of all that time you spent trying to get there and realizing and thinking you might not be good enough and shit like that. I was blessed enough to see both in their primes and those were some great times for basketball. Don’t you ever try to discredit this mans Skill on a ball court. Fuck the sport and the championship for a second. Melo is literally one of the greatest we ever seen with a rock in his hands. sportsmanship stuff aside. In terms of the game Basketball on any level. Melo is a goat. His skill was incredible. Too bad he let his ego hold his game back but don’t ever make it seem like dude just some scrub. Tbh I think he was a better scorer than KD, has more 50pt games and had more moves in his bag. Yeah he’s washed and can’t play for a winning team no more but as for those kids at home just watching his jumper and his smoothness don’t go bashing the man cause you a nerdy sports guy and you love watching the game more than playing. See me growing up TMac was my favourite player. I could’ve easily rather Kobe cause he was winning and he had rings but it wasn’t about that. For me it was just love for the game. I could care less who won the chip. All I knew was that Tmac was colder than Kobe with the Rock in my personal opinion so I liked him more.

As somewhat of a Knicks fan....cause I live in NY...What Chauncey said is no surprise to me . He has always been a selfish "All about me" player. Just look at his game , his passing game hasn't improved one bit since he came in the league. It's just give me the damn ball...let me hold it for 5 seconds ...dribble, dribble jack up a shot.......He doesn't try to facilitate others.....make the winning plays, or try to help his teammates shine...Just look at how jealous he got of Linsanity, even though they were winning. The NBA doesn't accept this type of mentality in a player anymore. It's all about super stars who think like Klay, Steph, and Kawhi. It's team first. Melo should just make it official and retire...He will fail again if he comes back. I'm getting sick of hearing about him. Just count your money and go away man !

Jacks up 30 shots a game so that he can average 30pts. He also takes crucial last minute shots even though his best player KD and PG was scorching hot. Hence they left him. And let me ask you this. Melo’s one of my Top 5 all-time faves since his days in Denver. But Chauncey is completely right. It’s ego more than anything now. Hope he gets one more shot to end his career right though. But it’ll take a lot of internalization on his part and it has to be quick. Hope he takes AI into consideration and how his career ended because he didn’t want to take a lesser role in the twilight of his career.

With the not being in an nba finals thing: out of those 4 players, 2 played in the west and 2 in the East. It’s no wonder why d Wade and lbj have made it to the finals. Cp3 on NOH had to battle to just make a low seed and then be bounced out by the Lakers or Spurs, more well rounded teams. And often times against the Spurs Cp3 was the best player on the floor. Melo played on some great nuggets teams but he was often met by the likes of Kobe and the Lakers. Those nuggets team that Carmelo led were so good, there is no doubt in my mind that if they were in the east they would have multiple finals appearances.
