Thats always been the case. In OKC, many accused Westbrook of "holding Durant back" and that there was only "one star on OKC." KD has talked about in interviews how in Golden State the media and many others referred to them at "KD and the Warriors" kinda separating them and that they were always on his heels about free agency. Brooklyn is bringing in Ben for this series so they can put him on Tatum and ease the defensive load of KD and Kyrie so they can go to work offensively. All I know is, the Nets better figure how to work Ben into the system quickly, or the Celtics will take advantage.

People used this as an argument why Lebron is better but KD has proved he can pass , defend, block shots and pass just as good as Lebron but he is also taller , a better more efficient and clutch shooter plus has a career 92% free throw shooter while Lebron is like 75% or something. KD is a better player period. The ONLY thing Lebron is better at is leadership. KD is too timid to check people like Kyrie and Ben Simmons

That’s one of many reasons why I love KD and respect him so so much. From Coaching, 43 fxxing lineups, rookies, Harden playing bad on purpose, Kyrie only played 1/4 games, trades for new teammates….etc. So many obstacles, he can just carry and bring everyone ego tgt and play at highest level. And that time when ppl tried to blame anyone on his team, he took it himself for getting hurt. Still, he is able to elevated every his teammates to another level and bring the best of them on the court. He is just unbelievable, no stats chasing, always make right plays. He is exactly the same guy in thunder in warriors and now nets that embrace his teammates and still doing what he does on the court🤯 And ppl really take him for granted sometimes. He is Kevin Durant, really an alien and treasure in NBA. My one and only goat💙 Wherever and whenever he plays, he is basketball.🔥死神🔥

This isn’t as easy as you’re making it out to be. On top of that, Simmons will be guarding Tatum. Even more so, Simmons will help on the boards and protect the rim. Him being scared to shoot isn’t an issue when you have Seth, KD and Kyrie. Good luck🤣

i have heard “he hasnt played since last june” so many times on this show im about to make it my ringtone

From someone who deals with depression and other mental health issues I hope he's not faking it even though I suspect he is. All people asked him to do is work on his shooting and he just shut down. I can't get away with that on my job and neither can most.

I would NOT let Ben back into the lineup. It would jeopardize the current chemistry of the team and cause them to potentially lose in the playoffs.

@@joeljohnson6137 LA is out of rotation, Bruce brown has been the one that has been scoring 15-20pts. Curry & Drummond always get 30. KD & Kyrie will combine minimum 60. Than any of the role players can score the rest 10-20pts, mills if he’s hot & consistent, he’s looking better but still not like he was in beginning of the season. Even dragic can score 15 if he gets hot. Thomas can be put in against Pritchard and he can score 20-25 depends on mins/shots. Claxton has been scoring 10-15. The starters (Kai, Curry, Bruce, KD, & Drummond) will score consistently but it’s just the role players that need to play good.

Could've just put this in the "Worst of Stephen A" playlist. No matter what anyone thinks or feels about how it happened, Ben has not played for 10 months. Starting him up mid-playoffs would definitely mess up the Nets rotations and probably get him injured. Stephen A Smith has to know this.

As much as James Harden is a question mark and has defensive issues, I’m so happy the Sixers got rid of the Ben Simmons drama. He’s very entitled and doesn’t even want to play basketball-he just wants to get paid and buy houses and cars.

Perk is right. SAS chill, the man has not played in almost a year. He might as well just sit the rest of the time. An KD is right, he watched what happen when you rush people back, injuries happen. No need for it, let him sit and hit the ground running next season. No excuses at that point.

I disagree... Back in the day players an I'm not just talking about the ones in their 70s 60s an 50s. The guys in the 40s also would get on teammates. They didn't call them out to the media. But they would say we need him on the floor. These guys today call it hating now so I'm a mind my business an worry about me now..

SAS is absolutely correct. Simmons should have been playing after being traded so he would be ready for the playoffs.

@@BaithNa what no he was not injured 😅😂🤣😭 he was just dealing with mental health issues due to all the criticism and scrutiny he was getting for his play for last post season which is all legitimate and qualified it just shows he has a weak mentality

@@BaithNa facts, I think they should have him shut down & let him come back healthy next year. Playoffs isnt really an ideal time to ramp-up especially for someone that hasn’t played in close to a year. That’s an injury waiting to happen.

Players with an ACL injury come back sooner than that. Simmons is thinking too much about how people will react to his first shot attempt. All he needs to do is go out and hoop.

I’m with big perk on this. No point in having Ben come back this season. This group struggled together to get to where they are and It would be nice to see KD lead the guys that stuck with him to go against the odds and make a run without Ben.

I disagree. They will need him in the championship if they get far. Because of the depth in the West.. Suns Paul Booker Bridges Shamet Payne Warriors Steph Klay Kuminga Poole Wiggins An other teams I could go on Nets will need him to guard those guys... Unless Seth an Drum can give them both a combine 35 every game..

Ben hasn’t contributed yet and they made the playoffs without him. I wanna see what this team can do without him. It would be much more interesting imo.

Seth an Mills can play D but they are too small. Simmons has size like a guard an small forward to stick guys like Devin Payne Wiggins Poole Klay Bridges an etc... The Nets have depth but its mostly at the center an PG position. The West got a lot of depth at the two guard an small forward position.. Trust me they will need Ben Simmons to win championship...

As a Celtics fan, I hope Ben Simmons comes back. Not only is he one less player to worry about on defense, he'll also mess with the minutes balance they have right now, which for a lot of players means way less points (like the Kyrie led Celtics).

If he was perfect he wldnt be bitching abt Brown, thats the contradiction SAS pointed out. Imv kD has his own concept of public image. Brown is a noob, so he can slam him. Kyrie Harden Simmons r stars, so he has to be careful. But its indicative that behind the scenes KD is a hands off leader.

@@louisb5766 Both are playing politics. SAS wants a louder leadership. KD is more "Asian" style, dont show yr cards, handle things indoors, but even indoors do so impliedly. KD is also the sort to quit and join the rival finalist team, so hes used to the noise. He has a diff attitude. I wont say he is a grt teammate, he is more an individualist who allows u to be who u r.
