We all should have seen this coming since draft day. As a sixer fan I thought his ceiling would forgive anything he could do. And for those 5 years when every other nba fan was me/us that he was not HIM, sixer fans turned their heads and patted him on the back when he sucked in the postseason. He was finally given criticism and nudged to step up by coaches, teammates, and fans yet called the environment toxic. Ben Simmons is a literal man child who is whining and should be embarrassed. He quit on on 2 teams this year, let’s hope for the Nets sake he comes in with a new mindset…

Ben Simmon's single handedly gave the owners a ton of leverage come the next CBA. I feel bad for the 76ers and the Nets who dealed with this garbage. He don't even have the urge to think of helping his team stay in this series, while he knows that if they lose he won't be able to play competitively for another 5-6 months, this man doesn't love basketball.

Ben Simmons had this same reputation in college. People were complaining he wasn't playing hard in college and that he only played the 1 year because he had to in order so to get to the NBA. If it was up to him he wouldn't have played in college at all because he thought he was above the college game. He had the talent in college to get that team to the elite 8 in my opinion if he put his all into it. This man been in the league for almost 6 years and barely shoots jump shots because he doesn't think he has to. It's sad because there are so many people who would die to have the talent he has just to waste it.

Exactly why he ain’t an all-time great. I mean look at Giannis, man hit rock bottom as a kid, but what did he do? He grinded and now he’s a 2x MVP, a DPOY, and already a top 30 player of all-time. Look at Jokic, dude was a mid second round pick and was never in shape, but he kept going and now he’s in shape and in my eyes he’s already a top 75 player of all time and he’s a back-back MVP. KD had a rough upbringing, but he stuck with it and now he’s an MVP. LeBron had a rough childhood and out of nowhere became super popular, but even with his athleticism, he kept grinding. His skill has improved drastically from day 1 and he’s an all-time great. Steph Curry was always called too small and people didn’t want him, but he kept going and he a four time champ and a two time finals MVP. Jimmy Butler got kicked out of his house at 13 and was homeless, but he stuck through the grind. Joel Embiid didn’t start playing basketball until he was 16 and got made fun of for his lack of skill, but he ain’t quit. He missed the first two and a half years of his career, now he’s an MVP candidate. Damian Lillard grew up in a horrible neighborhood and nearly got shot when he was a teenager and went to a small college, but he didn’t quit, he kept grinding. Serge Ibaka lost both of his parents when he was 13, but he kept going and now he’s a champion. Derrick Rose had a rough childhood and grew up without a dad, but he didn’t quit. He’s a former MVP. John Wall lost his father at a young age and was known as a criminal, but thanks to his mom he managed to change his act and he kept grinding. These guys don’t know the meaning of quit. (Ight LeBron do be quitting but he still in the lab improving his skill every day) Kobe had a horrible team for a few years, but he was working harder than everyone else. MJ got cut from his varsity team in high school, and now he’s the GOAT. Demar Derozan was surrounded by gang life, but now he’s an all-star and an MVP candidate. Kawhi Leonard grew up in a rough situation, but he ain’t quit, now he a 2x champ, 2x finals MVP, and a 2x DPOY.

Chuck is spot on. I played football in college and played through so many injuries. I tore my labrum and played through it for two years. Broken bone in foot, high ankle sprain, torn extensor tendon in finger, etc. There was one game where my shoulder subluxed twice and I came back for a few plays in incredible pain each time. I only maybe played half the game and my teammates pushed the coaches to give me the game ball afterwards. I didn't get it at first as statistically it was one of my worst games, but they explained to me after that it was the effort and respect they had for me when many wouldn't have played through what I played with. Fans will have their takes, but teammates respect when you are sacrificing yourself for the team.

Some players have the clutch genes, they can rise up to the challenge when the pressure is tremendous. Especially in the playoffs, you can leave a legacy. Unfortunately for Ben, his legacy thus far is being a quitter and not even trying. Not trying to shoot in a playoff series, not trying to make a slam dunk or layout, and flat out quitting on a team. Hopefully he can come back strong and prove the doubters wrong in the future. But the last 2 years has shine a very disturbing light on his reputation.
