Lavine got away with generous 50 on a couple of so so dunks early in that 2016 final, while Gordon was putting on a show. In both contests he lost, Gordon was clearly the most creative dunker and got penalized for it while his opponents just kept repating the same thing (between the legs or free throw line)

I blame the fans for booing judges that dont give 10s. what this does is it lowers the standards so that even mediocre dunks are scored 10. this shouldve been over when Gordon did the epic windmill jam from the side of the backboard. anything Jones couldve done after that should been 45. with that said, stupid Dwyane Wade! 49 for dunk over 7'7" guy??

Stephen A was right. I also remember thinking to myself that everything Derrick Jones was doing was in between the legs. They were spectacular but I was between the legs fatigued after the second one.

When dunking is such a subjective task, it can only be truly judged by professional dunkers...not a rapper, an actor and a teammate of one of the contestants!

Nah eh got 5 straight 50s so that's not accurate. I don't think the Taco dunk was a 50 though because he might as well have dunked over Shaq the how much Taco leaned down and he hit him with his thigh.

@As A Black Man While LeBron certainly is more of an in-game dunker than a stylish one, Stephen A's point still stands. Have you seen LeBron at the layup line in warmups back in Maimi? This man was doing practically most of the dunks you see in the contest to such a degree that fans rushed to just catch a glimpse of his athletism/versatility. The only reason LeBron didn't participate in the dunk contest was simply that he just could not risk the negative feedback to his brand if he lost.

Most of the dunks were grabbing the ball from the top of someone else's head. I was thinking, "switch it up already".
