How quickly you notice the difference from when top HS kids are playing in their respective schools as their best player vs going to a camp with other top talent. Their game immediately changes cause of the need to play within your team, but also shine. Some of these kids were traveling, double dribbling, hesitant on either taking it themselves or passing it. And some were shining, standing out amongst the crop while playing an NBA style scrimmage. Quick, fast, confident decisions that a handful of them were making. Amazing to see it this age.

im 6'4 (not big by nba standards) but i played center and forward my entire life up until highschool when there were actual big men when i started playing small forward and shooting guard. My whole life, coaches, my dad, everyone would SCOLD me for shooting 3's or being outside of the key. I used to HATE it, ive always been a strong shooter, always been able to knock them down from anywhere but would get punished for trying in games or even practice. Fast forward 10-15 years, Steph curry has not only made it acceptable for EVERYONE to take longer shots, but the entire game has changed to reflect it. These kids today are taking further shots, pushing themselves further and arent being held back by coaches. You can see Stephs influence in every young basketball players game and i love to see it. on a side note, cant wait to see what the Duke program does for Cooper. Duke is where goodcollege ball players go to become great NBA stars.

Dude, all they’re doing is driving to the rim and either putting up a goofy ass lay up, or kick it out to the three every other time. This is pathetic basketball. No post, no screening, no baseline cutting/passing, no actual defense at all. It should NEVER be that easy to get to the rim. Future of NBA going to suck. Larry bird an magic woulda made this group look dumb when they were in highschool , AWFUL basketball, idk what the f you watch

He got them running up and down the court like Steve Kerr. I guess you got to get in shape. But this pace is only good for guys that can shoot 3s. It results in a good look at the rim from 3-land (or easy dunks). This is a good way to test full court defense too. I remember those drills from high school.

I really enjoyed watching this as a fan of basketball in general. All these kids were making plays for one another. Ball was moving with purpose. Kids looked to make the extra pass, finding the open teammate with the better shot and there wasn't any semblance overdribbling (most players took maybe 1 or 2 dribbles). Only thing missing from today's game is post play but that's just not advantageous anymore given how the game has evolved.

So the purpose this drill is to showcase ur ability to communicate on both ends and move without the basketball make defensive rotations and make the extra pass for a open shot or driving layup
