It's intriguing how many good songs Linkin Park scrapped to make the masterpiece that is *HYBRID THEORY*

I would say it more of a case of doing a trial-and-error approach at the making of their music, in which their guiding themselves throughout the same genre and tone, but attempting different types of lyrics and songs, and chose the ones that are more fitting into the final product and giving them cohesion. It's all about cohesion

I suppose having a generic beat makes it easier for people to accept the song as it would sound like everything else they've already heard. If it's something extremely unique and unfamiliar, a lot of people might not even give it a try. Another thing about bland sounding music is that you can play it anywhere, because it really doesn't stand out in a negative way, it's just noise.
This song is kind of definition of hybrid theory and LP itself
Can you imagine the level of music they were composing at that time. They didn’t have anything or anyone to copy or so called Inspire. They are just real gems 💎
I remember chanting the chorus of the song for my high school football game. However, I replaced the word “rhyme” with “game”, thus saying, “Who can rock the game like this?” since it’s a sports event. This song influenced me a lot for this not only because of Shinoda, but to have a true meaning of perseverance.

LP ❤
I discovered High Voltage, Dedicated, and Step Up while I was drowning and suffocating in the racist, anti-black, colorist space of Singapura where I was sexually abused at age 9 and continued to be traumatized until dehumanization by age 12. I have never been an LPU member, these songs were shared with me by kind friends on the Linkin Park Message Board. I have remained in my dehumanized state since 2000, through 2005 when I migrated to Canada, and until my independently implemented re-humanization & (re)education in 2022. I went through complete ostracization & total isolation to arrive at my significant victory. All I had with me as my guides were the Buddhadhamma & nature. All I had to nourish me was a single drop of love. I take all of your suffering, past, present & future. I give to you all of my joy & happiness. 💙💛❤🤍🧡
