In this video I go through the process of changing the oil and oil filter in our 2019 sprinter van with the diesel engine. This engine has a cartridge style oil filter and you will need an 84mm socket to get it off. It is simple and straightforward. Check out my cardboard trick to limit oil splashing and make sure to change the two o-rings on the filter canister housing. these engines take 13.2 quarts with the oil filter change of synthetic oil meeting the Mercedes 229.52 spec 5w-30 oil. I used the Mobile One ESP full synthetic oil. You can find the Mercedes oil change kit on ECS tuning that includes Mercedes oil, oil filter, orings, drain plug and drain plug copper washer for $221.97.
