Excellent video for the newer sprinters. Helpful hints as follows: 3:55 - that tab that he squeezes has another one on the bottom also. The other end just snaps into the lower air housing so may be easier to remove just like he did. 5:08 - Other videos show using large wire cutters to grab the clamp and pry it off and then pliers to snap them back on. It worked for me but maybe I'll have to replace them next time I replace the filter. 8:32 - notice that the little protrusion on the top of this plastic circlip faces away from the hose for re-installation. Also notice how snugly the hose connector fits onto the filter. Upon re-installation, make sure it snaps back into the same position before installing the circlip. 10:21 - this electrical connector was a bear to pry off. Had to use a pick to ensure the catch was released and took 2 large screwdrivers to get it to wedge free. Not Fun! 10:44 - I didn't remove the inlet turbo hose as I was able to access the E10 bolt under this hose using a swivel connector on my E10 socket. 12:24 - it takes 2 seconds to remove the circlip and hose to avoid breaking it. 14:07 - try to remove the 2 hoses first as they are very hard to slide off the filter and having the filter stationary helps. 14:45 - I really can't believe how easily you got those 2 hoses free. I used a pick to slide around the fitting to try and loosen the hose but it still took 2 screwdrivers prying on each side to get them off. (BTW - my 2021 had 23k miles on it and everything seemed like it was cemented in place. Major PITA removing the hoses and connectors from the filter! Hope these tips help.

You are also advised to replace the compensation ring whenever you disconnect the intake pipe from the turbo. It's about $30 and it's actually difficult to see/inspect unless you're actively looking for/at it - because it sits inside the pipe that is facing away from you.

Did you prime the fuel filter before you reinstalled it?

8:15 that clip had a tab at the top. Make sure to note its orientation. If I remember correctly it points towards the filter. 10:39 be very careful to not get debris in the turbo. Also, note its orientation also, take it apart and clean it and tube of oil, and the turbo flange. Reinstall pushing it all the way on, tighten clamp to 3Nm, which is shop talk for “not too tight dummy”, but snug, just not overly tight. Take note of the seals orientation when removing it from the tube, the thicker lip goes inside the tube.

I wonder if we are using that clip incorrectly. I saw a diagram (I think it was for this clip) that shows it in the release position when fully pushed in and in the locked position when pulled partly out. That would make sense because then the clip would never have to be completely removed.

How often do you have to change it?

I believe fuel filter change frequency is 20,000 miles.

Every 20K miles. More ifrequently if you use/have used “iffy” fuel.
