I've tried to pre-design my left-hand nails, but I found that the gel would not cure the b/c of the polish. Just wondering if you have experienced that or have any tips to fix that. I love your channel and especially your nail vids! You've inspired me to start doing my own nails. It's like a relaxation/de-stress time for me. ☺💖

I had the same problem, it was so goopy and just would not cure! I don't think there's any way to prevent that since the gel won't cure underneath because the layers of gel polish on top of the extension prevent the UV light from getting through to the bottom, unfortunately! :(

hi!! I tend to cure those a bit longer to make sure they are cured all the way. and if you’re not comfortable with that and feel like they are not curing you can always just apply them with some nail glue:)

yes I had the same problem but for some reason only with some of the nails. it seemed to happen a little bit more with the darker polish ones for me

I just did my very first set today and that happened on my left(first) hand i noticed it was because 1) i didn’t file the whole nail to be rough and 2) i didn’t put a base coat on! after doing all of that on my right hand it looked SOOOO much better. the steps really matter :) Good luck everyone, we on that money savin shit 😂🤍

you should buy uv protective gloves for how much you do your nails! i did mine all the time and eventually the light started to tan my nails and if you use the uv lamp often you can risk cancer so i immediately got uv protective gloves to protect my skin!

i did my first pair of gel x and they were kinda cute 🤪 i defiantly need a better glue to keep them on

Okay first i want to say that I just recently found your KZread and i am OBSESSED. I have followed you on KZread, Instagram and tik tok lol. When doing these Gel-X nails do you need to use the smaller lamp or can you just apply them and then cure them in the bigger lamp? Just asking because I have majority of the things to get start with this process accept for the mini lamp and I was just trying to save money for the time being if i could. I would totally purchase it later but to start i was wondering if I could go without.

i didn’t know to have a layer of that nail glue/extend gel on the natural nails cured BEFORE applying the nail! is it a necessary or helpful step?

When you do the non-dominant hand and adhere them after you’ve pre-designed them, do you have any issues with curing them all the way? Does the gel glue cure all the way through when the nail is opaque? This set is so cute btw! I really want to try it!💚

Hey! Ive been folowing your steps but one thing i need to know is HOW DO YOU KEEP EVERYTHING SO CLEAN?

do you have to trim your nail? like does it affect longevity to keep some length?

What speed do you use when filing close to the cuticle to blend them together ?

Can i use gel base coat instead of nakl glue for the tips to adhere on nail bed?

What do you do about the apex? My biggest struggle with using full over tips is the tips snap off within the first day or two 😭

you can try using builder gel before you polish to make them stronger!

Would sally hansen miracle gel work on those soft gel nail tips?

If you want to make nail content, but you don’t feel like taking off your own extensions, you can make a set of press ones with some nail art. You can get those stands with the paddy to hold the nails still

I HAVE AN IMPORTANT QUESTION. So I do have a lot of nail color from Wet n Wild and nail lacquer from OPI. would they work to design my nails? Or do I really need to get Gel polish? I have a ton and I just dont want to waste them and spend more money in every set of nails. I hope you can answer soon, I would love to start doing this, it would mean a lot to me. You can still use your regular polish for color and designs above gel polish, if you want them to last long just use a gel topcoat on top after they’re fully dry :)

Quick question, after you file the inside of the gel nail extension do you wipe them with alcohol or anything? I thought having dust on the nail could prevent them from staying on. Just trying to follow every step☺

OUCH! What did I do wrong? When I removed my Gel-X nails, I noticed my actual nail had a line of demarcation to break off. With the gel-x nails, some nails started lifting near the Cuticle end. When that happened, I started feeling pain in my actual nail and that prompted me to remove the gel-x. Can you explain what happened and how to avoid this? Thnx.

I do have a question if you don’t have a drill but a lot of jail filers can you just file them onto your nail when they are glued on

BTW some brands make pre etched nail tips and its a great time saver
