Sooo, I found out the hard way that an allergic reaction to methacrylate/arcrylate doesn't just affect being able to do gel nails. It also affects so many other things, like dermabond glue that holds surgical incisions together. I had surgery back in 2020 with no reactions to dermabond. Started doing my nails in 2021 and had a couple of allergic reaction issues so I stopped doing it. Had surgery again a month and a half ago and my entire stomach broke out in a rash and I had awful hives under the dermabond on my incisions. I've also heard that methacrylates/acrylates are used in dental things as well. Be very very careful!!

love your designs, but I've noticed in multiple videos that you are using your electronic file at way too high an RPM and that is probably why you're having issues with nicks and cuts on your cuticles. the only time you should need to turn an electronic file up to 10 like you do regularly is if you are trying to shave through an entire acrylic/gel nail to remove it all together and start fresh without soaking it off. for the purposes you and your viewers use it for, you should really be going up to a maximum of 5. I think if you go lower down to 4 or 5, you're going to find that you get a lot more control, you get a lot less nicks and cuts and tearing on your cuticles.

TIP FOR DOING GEL X NAILS WITH AN ALLERGY! I have contact dermatitis from gel polish. I didn't do anything to cause it, I cured my gel all the way, I don't get it on my skin, I do EVERYTHING, but I still have it. I have found that hard gel or any gel used to stick on the gel extensions does not cause much of a reaction, it's just the gel polish on top. I have started using dip on my gel x nails instead of gel to avoid a reaction, and I have my nails on for 3-4 weeks with barely any reactions after the first couple days. I can still do designs with gel, as long as it isn't touching a bunch of my skin, and I will just use dip for the base color. I hope this works for anyone with this problem. Love you Kayli!

@@sarahalkhafaji2235 don’t worry about it! try it out and see because there’s a good chance you won’t get an allergy. also, it’s very likely that it won’t even develop until after a year or more from when you start using it. it is also not life threatening or something you should be scared of when getting a gel allergy, as it only makes your skin a bit red and itchy. many people have an allergy and still use gel but just put up with it. so just try it and there’s a good chance you won’t even ever get an allergy!

@@suzannetran1 You just have to try it out. You never know what kind of reaction you’ll have unless you try it, but if you do have a reaction do not worry because it is not at all life threatening. I would buy the apres sensitive skin extend gel to start because that is what I use and it doesn’t cause a reaction. But my best advice is just to try it out and don’t be scared if you do notice a reaction.

I came across this channel scrolling thru a bunch of tik tok makeup compilations and ended up binging ALL of her “copycat” vogue celeb makeup/skincare routines. Your gelx video convinced me to go with gelx. Was getting a gift together for my daughter and had just assumed I was going the polygel route until I saw your videos on gelX. And my daughter always did full extensions and press ons but come to realize it's the curve that is the problem and issues with glue. So I'm super excited to give her the gelX that I've gotten her. Put together a whole diy kit for her so she's got everything she needs now including the accessories, tools and fun decorations she could want. hi just a question! since the look (green euphoria nails) you did, you only had done the pre painted then apply with gel on one hand. i have done this in the past and was wondering if you only have contact dermatitis on one of your hands? or is it both. i have done this in the past and seen more regularly that the cutical on my right hands seem to be more sensitive than normally.

The way I do it is the same way she did the press ones at the end. But, Like she said do not apply a tip that has polish on it, with gel. If you do this the gel underneath will not fully cure no matter what! I stick them on with a tiny bit of nail glue after dehydrating and priming, hope this helps :) ❤️

Venalisa is a great cheap brand of nail gels, polygels and gel polishes, I think it's way cheaper on AliExpress, I buy mine from AliExpress, Amazon does not have as much of a variety of products from that brand, the only thing is that it takes longer to arrive. You can use the Beetles base and top as base and top coat, but you'll need a builder gel or extend gel to attach the clear nails. Beetles makes one that's way cheaper. Kayli has used it before

i have contact dermatitis from being messy and lazy while still learning to do gel x nails, results in a couple of my nails being pretty itchy for a few days after i do a fresh set but then it goes away. do i continue doing gel x naills on myself? yes. why? because beauty is pain 😂

If I could may I make a suggestion? My cuticles were so bad they were ragged and I tried Everything 😪 Then I was at a dermatologist app not for nails 🙃 but my Dr told me to try Neosporian ointment or cream around my cuticles and the next day to my.supprise you couldn't tell they were damaged. Please try Neosporian on damaged cuticles.

I have a question. I have contact dermatitis and I cannot wear gel nails. So if I cure my nails outside like press one and use glue instead of gel to stick them on will I still have an allergic reaction? Can I use a peely coat underneath and use glue. I want pretty nails. Someone help me. 😢

I would not use any gel even with peel base if you had reactions already- continuing to use it will make your reactions worse. You can adhere press ons with dip base liquid!

Try using dip base or acrylic to adhere the nails. Keep gel away from your skin. That's safest. You could also try waterproof sticky tabs.
