Step By Step Guide On Buying ANY High Mileage BMW!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is a step by step guide on buying any high mileage BMW so you don't get screwed over. I get really in depth here and show my entire process I've used when buying not only bmws, but all cars over the last 10 years.
I've bought a lot of clean cars but seen so many terrible cars I didn't buy because of my process.
I hope this brings some buyers value and stops some shady sellers from selling their car to an unknowledgeable person.
Step-By-Step Process:
Do research on forums for car specific issues (Like injector problems on N54)
Check exterior- Look for paint mis-matching. Look for panel gaps
Check under engine- Look for oil and other leaks/damage
Check under rear of BMW- Look for bad rust
Check Interior- Look for dash cracks, steering wheel damage, seat leather rips and bad smells
Listen to engine under idle and load
Take the car for a longer test drive- Listen for any suspension issues
Check Maintenance history
CHECK THE CARFAX. CHECK THE CARFAX.
Look at comparables
Negotiate Price
This process works on 135 , 335, m3 , m4 , x5m , 1m or literally any other car.
If you have any questions feel free to ask!

    I am really liking your channel on I was watching your video on buying a high mileage BMW 135 and I was wondering if you can help me decide on whether to one. I also loved your video on which one you would buy between a Skyline or a BMW. I would have picked the Skyline as well. I owned an R32 but I had to sell it. The saddest day of my life but back to what I'm messaging you about. It is a BMW 135 M Sport with a new exhaust. But it has a lot of kilometres on it and it has been track driven. 2012 BMW 135 i M SPORT 6 SPEED MANUAL DINAN EXHAUST. I was wondering if it would be a good buy. I would really like your opinion or maybe I should just get the Subaru Legacy Spec B. I like your channel on BMW 135, it has a lot of great advice.

    I appreciate the kind words man, and selling a skyline sounds like a terrible day. But we can always get another. I actually ended up getting the skyline lol. But back the the bmw, If it’s a track car I’d get the compression testing and inspect it very very well. There’s a difference between a few track days and a purpose built track car. I hope it’s clean and is a good price with those km’s on it

    Thanks brotha! My brother had that exact car and loved it. Basic bmw maintenance. Oil every 5k, radiator and water pump every 100k. Spark plugs every 20-30k. The only thing I’ve heard of going wrong on those, is there is a gear inside the rear diff that will go out around 100k miles and create a clunking sound from the rear end. Once that’s fixed, and the car is well maintained that car will last you years. Congrats on the purchase!

  • @boostedbijan

    230k is a lot. That car has maybe a couple more years until it needs a head or engine rebuild. Unless there’s every service record and a recent rebuild I’d be very careful with it. If you plan on driving it into the ground and get it dirt dirt cheap. Maybe it’ll be worth for a couple years but I’d still be careful with that

  • @boostedbijan

    @boostedbijan

    Жыл бұрын

    There’s couple things to know, that’s a lot of miles, even if it’s highway. If you have full service records and the car drives beautifully I’d consider it for a VERY low price. Also know, that awd system needs a $1000-$2000 refresh every 100k miles. So if they didn’t do it at 200k miles, you may get stuck with it.

  • @boostedbijan

    @boostedbijan

    90k miles a couple things can come up. Water pump usually goes out at 100k, same with radiator. Those cars are pretty reliable. If it’s clean and well priced that should be a great daily driver buy. My only concern is, with the x-drive cars of that generation, I’ve heard of a small % of cars being affected by this bearing issue in the rear diff of the awd system. But like I said only a small %. Wish you luck 👌

    Whats up bro! So id recommend the n55 all day long as long as long as they're clean. Low owners and good condition. If the mileage is a little higher, in some situations, that can be ok as long as a caring owner took care of the car. As far as multiple owners and being overpriced I wouldn't recommend it. Try searching Craigslist and offer-up to find better deals that what the dealer is offering. Wish you luck!

All the valve cover gaskets, front and rear main seals etc.. all changed. Clutch done if it was a manual. And all the suspension bushings inspected for breakdown. 6:00 that is bullshit.... I am not paying hundreds of dollars for a fucking oil change at bmw so i can have it on record, when i can do it myself... My car haven't been serviced by bmw since 190xx km and that is 150xx km ago. Both myself and previous owner has serviced the car, changed the brakes, brake caliper, pumps vaccum line everything myself, for free. only parts. Has now done 337xx km and has never been to a dealer. The only thing, that tells you is the owner likes to wipe his ass with sandpaper and incompetent of working on his own car.. The only time you should take a bmw to bmw, and not get your ass scammed is for a recall..

    As a student should I go for a BMW with 80-100k miles on it? My budget is 15k. Or should I go for something else with lesser miles. I want a reliable car for just 1-2 years.

    Hey there, if you have experience with cars getting an older bmw with 100k isn’t the worst plan. Just be willing to set aside a lot of KZread time to fix things that will go wrong. If you don’t want to deal with any maintenance, and just want reliable, can always get a Camry or a Corolla. 👌

    @@boostedbijan thanks for answering! I totally agree with you. I am gonna skip buying the one with 100k miles, and go for something that is not gonna waste my time. However, how about a car with 50k miles on it? In particular, There’s a jaguar xf available with 45k miles.

    Is a 190k mileage for a 2006 bmw 750i any good?

    Wouldn’t recommend brotha. Too many miles for that engine and those 7 series aren’t the most reliable.
