    Fear is the biggest driver of all of my faults. I fear I'm not capable enough. This leads to frustration and anger. Which leads to lower feelings of self worth and affects every aspect of my life.

    Another good video. I got sober before the internet. Recently decided to help a young man with his problem. I was going though the book with him and then I thought, damn this should be so cool now. Just go to KZreadz and have someone explain what needs done. Boy was I wrong. Your channel seems to be the only one I mainly agree with on here. Keep up the good work. Be aware that pride is a character defect. Peace be upon you, brother.

    In my opinion there is no such thing as failing in this step. Many people have taken this step again and again. That's not a problem. Honesty is a big deal here. Don't lie to yourself and don't lie to anyone else. AA is a wonderful program. The program is the 12 Steps. The Fellowship is the Fellowship. They are not the same thing. Somebody might not tell you that. But that's the way it is. I met many wonderful people in the Fellowship who helped me change my life. I will never forget them. If you're a real alcoholic you'll never go wrong by following this program.

    The fellowship we talk about the solution we have found in AA. The steps separate us from Alcohol. Then we practice these principles in all of our affairs to stay stopped. There’s two tricks to this game first one is how do I get separated from alcohol and drugs. The other is simply how do I stay stopped. Most people have stopped before probably quit 1 million times and start back up again. How do I stay stopped I get comfortable by relieving the baggage and the anxiety that’s following me and blocking me from others. Good luck on your journeys. Great life lucky to be able to do it

    Been sober 7 years in August. I've never done the 4th through the 12th step. I pretty much stopped going to AA . I had many sponsors, but never really used them. And it's all because of fear. I have always complicated the steps , how can this sponsor help me when he don't know my history, doesn't understand where these fears came from etc. I feel some fears are legitimate. Say it's a fear of someone who you honestly don't know what they will do from experience? That to me is not a made up fear, it's a fear born from actual experience with the person in the past.But that person is a relative. That's not my only fear by no means. Point is that I'm still in the same spot I was when I got sober, I just have not drank, or drugged again. I personally believe God took that desire from me as I never think about drinking anymore but the reasons I drank are all still there.

  • @jeffsilverman6104

    @jeffsilverman6104

    All fears are legitimate, and never let anyone tell you otherwise. 12 Step sponsors love to be in total control, it's all they understand. I know, because I was involved in that life for several years. I watched families torn apart, friendships and other relationships suffer because of it. Is your life better because you're sober? It doesn't get any more complicated than that, my friend. In 12 Step you are REQUIRED to turn your life over to your sponsor or else they will NOT help you. It's not about God or the ever elusive higher power, it's about control of other human beings. So please, never EVER let someone tell you that your fears aren't legitimate. "90 meetings in 90 days" is just enough time for a desperate person to be indoctrinated into an organization that really doesn't care about your sobriety, it's only about control. Fear is real, we all have them. If we didn't we wouldn't be human.

    @@sheraleewoods834 All due respect, I know what a sponsor's job is. It's about the selfish control of other human beings at a very low time in their lives. I know this better than most because I was involved in the petty insanity of 12 Step for a long time from both sides of the aisle. I tried to bring some open minded humanity to my sponsorships, until I realized that when you're part of a cult like 12 Step, the individual means nothing. I escaped after watching families and marriages torn apart by the control of sponsors who only care about their own agendas and narcissism.

    The steps are BUT MERE SUGGESTIONS, lol. And they're not even steps! The grammar makes them not a set of rules, they're just Bill's attempt at paraphrasing! 😂 Alcoholics anonymous steps to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. 1.) We came to admit we were POWERLESS over hunger! 😂 2.) We came to believe in a sandwich that would fill our bellies, and contradicted ourselves because actually, we do have power and free will! 3.) We humbly turned our attention to the refrigerator! 4.) We fearlessly rummaged past the rotten leftovers and found bread, and peanut butter and jelly! 🤗 5.) We admitted to ourselves and another human that we forgot to eat the leftovers, and threw them away. 6.) Etc... Lolol
