    Speaking from 1st time experience, a trapped arm elicits internal panic in the trapee ( ie. Bad things are about to happen) Really great Judo.

    Hi Sensei! Thanks for the free gold. When I try to do ko soto gake, as in 1:44, I get countered with o uchi gari a lot. Sometimes I get countered by uchi mata too. Any advice on avoiding those counters?

    Personally, I would try to place myself slightly more in the "back" of the opponent. Ko-uchi is easier if you are in front of the opponent. And if he tries uchi-mata, he would need to move his rear foot more to move his weight to the right place, so it would be harder for him. I hope it can help you at least to try sth New.
