​@ironmaidenmetalgod I can confirm the 22hour gameplay - I beat it within 23 by pulling an all nighter. Currently on NG+, just started Matrix 11, while doing a full completion run for NG+. 1st playthrough I did very few wide quests, though, and only got 16 soda cans, to give an idea of how fast I went through the story

You gotta consider this is a studio that mainly deals with handheld games bc that’s what’s popular in South Korea. For this being a new IP for Sony & as successful as it is. Is a huge win for Sony & us players that chose to buy this game

@@jonathantalley6110 I haven't personally gotten there but from what I have heard its the final PNR and if you haven't done the right side content by that time your locked out of the third ending. if its like the other PNRs and doesn't set that fact its the final PNR it can be off putting.

felt like a boss rush if anything i really enjoyed the ending

I had about 60 hours with getting all suits, cans, and fish. Now I’m starting new game plus . Man I loved every moment of this game.

To me is a solid 8/10 because voice acting from some characters was not great, not bad either and the story was a bit predictable if you get all memory sticks. But other wise an impressive game with fun gameplay and a great soundtrack.

​​@@brianrosado2333Yeah I give the game a 8/10 on the story. 7/10 on the dialogue, 9/10 scenery, 9/10 content (for an action game), 10/10 soundtrack and 10/10 gameplay. Overall a 9/10 package for a sucker for action games like me, but for the average folk we are looking at a solid 8/10. Woulda been 10/10 for me if it had boss rush or an extra game mode on release, but Im satisfied.

I spen hours looking for tiny enemies that only drop loot, I'm probably looking at 50 or 60 for my first playthrough. That one chest in the first area was driving me crazy for way too long before I left it only to get a quest for it.

22 hours with 7 hours of side content? I'm at 53% after 35 hours. I enjoy exploring and play both quite completely and quite leisurely, but you must have been rushing.

It's been 2 weeks, you probably beat the game already, but I went from 55% at 40 hours to 99% at 49 hours. The last 2.5 zones go relatively quick since there are no more side quests

This is Shift Up's first ever console game, so I didn't expect much. But what we did get was great, and im gonna go into new game+ on hard mode and grind for platinum.

Games like Halo and Gears were multiplayer focused titles. When looking at Stellar Blade's genre, its playtime makes sense. It just doesn't have what the likes of DMC and Bayonetta have, with remixed difficulties and the like to freshen up repeat playthroughs.

@@Fervent._I’d say it leans more in to being an action RPG. Although a lot of the attacks and moves look flashy the combat is very single enemy oriented rather than fighting your way through mass waves of enemies.

You wanted more after the credits, but in all actuality you probably will Jor as there's likely DLC and a sequel planned considering how well its doing haha.

Same. 49 hours for me. The fishing was driving me insane. That damn Mackerel and Sailfish. Took 131 catches total to get all fish (not counting boxes, or canned ham)

Thats interesting i finished the game with 72hours one my first play through get all the outfits and upgrades and collectibles i could. Now i just started ng+ today. I'm going for the platinum.

What doesn't make sense is one of Clyde's best fishing spots is Lily's hideout. Yet you have to enter the Epilogue to get there?

The thing I love about the game is that the game starts to straight up play like a different genre by the end compared to the beginning, it feels like a souls like at the start something like say sekiro and while that dna never really goes away it starts to feel more and more like a character action game by the end of the game up to and including what amounts to a devil trigger you unlock

For a first time console game from a up and coming developer, this was a stellar effort. Well done shift up

@@Pinkiefiedz I'm at 41 hours and starting Eidos 9. I took my time and explored a lot (probably 80%), got all 25 fish for the costume etc... the game is really long if you do everything it offers. But I do assume that if you only rush the main story with a few side quests you can be done in like 25 hours.

My first playthrough clocked at 37h, yeah I did all the side content I could and enjoyed every minute of it, never felt like I was delaying on purpose. I cant wait to do NG+, the gameplay is that fun! Besides, Devs confirmed boss rush is on the way. Im satisfied

Heard there has 3 different ending base on your choices. Definitely been playing it. Along with hearing it’s got new game plus.

If people could look beyond the T&A memes this is actually a hella solid game and an amazing action game. Some levels, story and dialogue coulda been better, but soundtrack, some scenery and gameplay are top notch, gameplay steals the show it is addicting and well crafted, it's like a soulsgame in essense but on roids.

I agree. I REALLY enjoyed the gameplay and I did actually enjoy the story, too. You can easily do a lore dive on it. And they can build on it in the sequel.

They had some neat things they could have executed better, despite the story feeling cliché. It's interesting how you can find a note in the Construction site that basically foreshadows the Plot.

You blasted through the game I played 100% on my first Playthrough 60hrs (going to my second playthrough to get the other ending and getting like 3 trophies Left) whenn I say 100% is with all that could be done on the first Playthrough !

I’m still playing through just got the second power cell for the town doing all the side quest as I go but I just wanna know if the ending is decent since he said it was rushed😭 also are v coins limited? Considering the file size is only 35 gigabytes, am not surprised at all that this game is very short before beating it and that’s with side content.

I already played it and it is really beautiful and great game to play.I really satisfied spend the money to buy this game... 😍

The music is fire

I thank you gentlemen for putting footage of your playthrough, I think we don't just need to "hear" about how you found it great, we need to see if it's something that we are interested in. For me, it's looking too hacky slashy, despite yes the parries and the dodges.. It does remind me of DMC and Bayonetta more than a From Soft SB title (I just find it funny that Soulsborne and Stellar Blade have the same initials). But I'm glad to hear that the team behind this put their back into it, and that it wasn't just some half baked souls knock off with, ironically, no soul.

It's an amazing job for a first time AAA game from a mobile studio

I am enjoying the fighting style even playing on "story mode". I wish there was a way to make save slots, but other than that it's great.

Well now I’m definitely buying this . Semi open world , good boss fights, multiple endings , lots of outfits . And NG+ ? Sign me up

Had the feeling that the NG+ is so much more enjoyable to play as you have all your abilities and perks on, not to mention that for every single new chest where you got something on the first run, you get something new. This is the first game I'm playing NG+ and enjoying it. Over 40+ hours and very close to plat now.

i too love the 2 big aspects of the game, and the very big plots at the back

Great game this year, didn't expect much but the voice acting, the enemies designs, the combat and the game feels alive. Best part is of course Eve! It's amazing that they also have NG+ from the start.

That's ShiftUp for you. They even did this with their mobile game Nikke. Not only did they put fam service in it, they also made sure that the gameplay is a great experience for the players. Another thing to make it all better is making the Gacha rates fair.

How is 22hrs a disappointment, especially in a LINEAR action game?! This isn't Horizon Zero Dawn (which is also openworld). I think you're also being a bit too hard on a company who only had experience designing mobile games before this. For this to be their first console game is insane. (Speaking of HZD... SB > HZD.)

@@blueberryslushee2277 No it ain't. You thinking from old generation standpoint that's why. Games rising in cost never entitled us to longer hours in games (though it'd be cool). Price increase came from stuff like inflation and cost of development. Also... cmon man, playtime ALONE should not be your metric for a game's value. Quality design, bosses, gameplay, combat, etc should be factored into that as well. And my favorite... replayvalue, and guess what? SB delivers greatly on that.

It's a great game. The combat is astounding. The outfits are definitely something. It has a great balance between open world zones and non-open world zones. The soundtrack is amazing. There are some glitches every now and then that you get where when you push buttons, nothing happens, but it's very rare. I don't know if it's a bad Bluetooth signal from the controller to the console or a glitch in the game, but I hope it works itself out soon. For the first console game this company made in its history, I look forward to seeing what the future holds for this company that made this game I say that because I heard that this company that made this game only did Android tablet and cell phone games previous to this game. I give this game a 9.5 stars out of 10. One of the best games that have been released in a while.

i was worried that "hot main character with sexy outfits" would be a crutch this game would lean on in favor of quality but i finished it the other day and i can say with confidence that those things are just garnishes on a very very good game. the combat is excellent, the soundtrack is excellent, and most surprisingly to me in the sea of vapid modern AAA games, the sidequests are (mostly) varied and engaging and flesh out the world in meaningful ways. this is a nier-like to its core and given that nier automata is my favorite game of all time i dont think thats bad at all

To be fair this was Shift Up’s first console game. Their other works are gacha games where there’s more time available to tell the story.

I like games that aren't too long. Sometimes a 100 hour game is just TOO MUCH especially with the amount of games that are dropping now days. Sometimes short but sweet is👌🏻

I loved the game. A certain 9/10 for me. Maybe I am getting old, but I found the parry/dodge windows WAY to short. Even with all upgrades I had more trouble parrying attacks here than in Sekiro.

I think with enough feedback about what's good and what is lacking, the studio could give us another game ( wether it's a sequel or a new game) that'll be one of the best games I'll ever play. Considering it's the studio's first game and it was on its own vary fun ( Well it's not the FIRST game but like... First at that scale)

Is this game coming to steam ever

The ending didn't feel in any way rushed to me, not to mention there are three versions of it but 22 hours means you surely rushed through the game. I did all side quests and didn't hurry with my exploration at all. Collected all the costumes and maxed out my skills and updates. First playthough took just a tad over 50 hours and I loved every minute of it. It's not the best game I've played but it is fun as hell and personally I was very positively surprised by the story arc regardless of the fact that it was a bit predictable... which may be because I actually read every single data entry I could find. Graphically it's... ok. Characters are nicely detailed and the general feel of it, lighting etc. just work. Environment textures are sometimes just plain horrible which explains the small size of the game.

I don't even know about that game but it's beautiful..

Fishing alone took more than 7 hours to catch all of them. But that's RNG I guess. It took 49 hours to beat the game with all side content, all cans, fish, etc. I started a NG+ to get the last trophy (3rd ending) for the Platinum.

It took me 30ish hours to do everything I could in a single playthrough and the point of no return couldn't have been clearer. There's also multiple endings. 🥴

I figured the game was short with how fast I maxed the skill tree and I'm already at 56 percent of the story done
