Ya I had A snowblower and sold it. Got tired of being covered in snow. Now that I have the cab I have been thinking of getting another blower, they do make it easy when the driveway blows shut

You really can't beat a 420 or 430. Great tractors. Hope you get one someday, They definitely make work easy and enjoyable.

You should push the snow all to the east side of your drive way so the wind doesn't blow it back onto the drive

That moves more snow than my Toro 522xi and blade with weights and chains. I wish that Toro had offered a V blade for that series.

Nice tractor, she was rolling it up with no problems. I thought this was Ohio, those drifts looked very similar to the ones I get.

You should try to push the snow all to the drift side so it doesn't blow shut again

I used to try to, But it still blows over quit a bit. The snowblower worked best. If I push it all to one side it sometimes gets so tall it's a struggle for it to push it sideways. Does not help it is do windy where I am at.

Those are good little machines for snow removal with a cab. And the v plow works great on them

The V plow would have been handy last week. It was pretty tough plowing thru some of the drifts we had. I do like the scoop option on the V plow. Have never used one, But may have to pick one up if I find one responsible this summer.

Why would you plow your snow to the side of the driveway it looks the drifts prominently come from?

  • @steiger256

I have tried pushing it all to the east side, But it still drifts up. The wind direction changes and with having 2 curves it always drifts in the curves. So far I have found it to be easier to just push it to both sides.

With all that drifting you either need to put up a snow fence or plant a line of evergreens.

Trees would probably be best. I tried the snow fence before. It worked with west winds only, And took a lot of time to put up And take down.

Do anyone know if you can use back attachments with Steiners... like a garden plow, disc, cultivator, etc??? Been looking for any video that shows this before buying one. Thanks!

  • @steiger256

I have other videos showing the Brinly back blade And the tandem disc in use. The 3 point hitch was a option. I think they are still available to purchase thru Steiner to add on, But you would have to contact a dealer to make sure. The 3 point was available on S-18, S-20, 420, And 430. It is a category 0 so you need to find older garden attachments for that size. I don't know if a 3 point is available on a newer Steiner 440 or 450. Ventrac offers them on there machines And they are catagory 1 setup. I imagine the new Steiners would be category 1 as well. I have yet to try a moldbord plow on mine. It would probably work, But they just sit really low. I am pretty sure Steiner offered a plow in the 80s But not 100 percent

@@steiger256 Thank you sir! Yes, I guess that was a better question to ask... if it had a 3 point hitch option. A friend told me they saw a video with a rear blade and they might be your video? I will have to check. I'm looking at an older model... the 420 or 430 as you stated. I want to try and find a tiller too. and I'm pretty sure the Steiners had that option available too. Thank you , thank you, thank you!!! I just wanted to make sure before buying one!!! You have been a HUGE HELP! Kudos!!!

@@steiger256 I just view the two videos you have with the rear 3 pitch hitch and Brinly blade. Just what I am looking for and again, wanted to make sure they had a 3 point option available! Thanks for taking the time to make all of your videos... going to check out your pull behind sweep videos too! Kudos!!!

does the skid shoe scraping actually scratch up the tarmac or concrete.? or is it icy on the surface and doesn't damage anything?

  • @steiger256

    @steiger256

usually has enough snow and ice doesn't hurt anything, But if it's dry it will leave scrape marks on concrete. My dad's driveway is all concrete so he mainly had the problem of wearing out the skid shoes about every 2 years. He now has the wheel kit on the blade And that seems to work well. Not sure how wheel kit would work on gravel.

I did put one up the first year we moved in. It did help when the wind came out of the west. When we get winds from the north And south it still blows it shut due to the curves in the driveway. It wasn't worth all the effort pounding stakes to put up the fence.

Plus a paved driveway takes away the country feel. If their was a hill or something like that I might want to pave that portion. Plus this way with a gravel driveway if he needs to use aggregate for traction there's no clean up it probably would blend right in.
