As a DIY I have seen tires out of round . I have found them while the car was raised and spinning the wheel looking closely for high or low spots . I have also seen radial belts twisted . On very old tires it's not uncommon for them to go out of round before the tread wears out . A lot of shops play the DRY ROT Boogie Man . The slightest sign of small cracks and they try to scare you . Even if new , old tires seem to harden over time . The rubber seems to dry out .

Great job! Another demonstration of good analytical skill and thinking. However, I suspect that the violent shaking at high speed could be due to one of the 4 wheels not properly installed i.e. the screws forces not in good balance. When you rotated the tires, you inadvertently corrected the problem. It’s always great pressure to watch your video!

You actually make a really good observation!!! I saw the way he installed them and then torqued all the lugs back, I thought myself you know this guy is doing it the right way and I doubt the tire shops did it this way 😂😂😂. I’ve seen plenty of tire shops, and they always use the air impact and just give it a few “chugga chuggas” 😂😂😂

Timing chain cover was a TSB. You are correct about rear stance being off. If anything, the drivers side should be lower due to fuel tank and battery being on that side. Passenger side spring hanger bushing is toast.

Its been a good 20 years since I had a similar thing happen to me - new front tires fixed it . I don't recall any blistering or visible distortions, so what I believe happened was a minor delamination of the steel belt. As wheel speed increased, centrifugal force brought an increasingly annoying out of round condition into effect So... I marked that one up as pothoe damage. - 20k miles with good tread when changed out.

My 2005 Toyota Camry XLE for some years had that kind of vibration. Took it to the dealer, they couldn't figure it out. Took it back to Sears where I bought the tires, all they would do is check the alignment (BYE Sears). Next time I needed tires I turned to my old favorite brand of Michelin. What was found by another tire place and myself also aghast at not noticing myself, Sears had originally installed the wrong tire size! New tires with the correct size...problem gone! I too was thinking belt shift in one, had the tires rotated, no change. It was in finding that the car had the wrong tire size installed and not until I replaced them was the solution found.

4:15 radial runout. There are Hunter balance machine that minimize the amount of shaking by giving the high/low spots of the wheel and tire, so that you can loosen the bead and align the tire low spot with wheel high spot. Also, balance machines have special shaft cones for toyota trucks/suv, so wheel could be centered to correctly balanced wheels Like how you look over everything for this diagnosis

toyota wheels should be balanced by the lugnut holes not with a cone in the supposed center they are lugcentric rims and probably could have cured most of that runout if he had a tire machine and could break it down and spin the tire 180 on the rim and reinflate it

These days if you don't have a tire shop that does road force balance as well they will never really know if a tire is 100% or not. I dealt with alot of low profile tires before and without a road force balance you can get good numbers but the car shakes like hell. And the tire needs to have it's location changed on how it's set on the rim. Also if the center cone for the rim is not right you can get the all ok from the tire balancer, but still shake like hell at highway speeds.

Brake pads can be "skimming" the rotors with no smell and no obvious pad or rotor wear. This will shimmy like bad wheel balance. Test drive and check the rotor temperatures. If one is hot you can bet the caliper is not retracting fully. Replace the caliper.

Were your spring clamps as loose as the ones on the passenger rear of this truck? Or they were supposed to be heated and pressed to fit the springs when being replaced under recall...

If you had a bad tire in front and you rotate it to the back, you should still have the vibration but it should be felt in your seat instead of the steering wheel. Did you experience the vibration in the seat after the tire rotation?
