In school they had this whole lecture and history about the Ackerman principle no one understood with all these formulas nobody even uses anymore, I didnt get it but eventually I did. And then you have this guy on youtube explaining the basics of it in a couple seconds. don't go to school kids (actually go to school it is still important).

School has become about following instructions and completing tasks--even college--while also being unnecessarily expensive. It's now pretty much a complete scam, but parents don't believe it when their kids tell them. Thanks, Gen X.

Rack and pinion steering has to be one of the first mechanical things I've learned from LEGO. That old No. 28 Formula 1 car from LEGO had that totally visible.

I've pondered how Ackermann steering is done with stretch limos - both professionally made, and those things where someone chops a car in half and adds an extra center section - saw that with a Prius once, it turned out better than it sounds. Do they change the steering geometry to match the longer wheelbase, or just have the tires scrub a bit? Also, I've noticed that on my classic VW Super Beetle, with the steering against the lock the tires chirp a tiny bit, seems like it's not a perfect Ackermann arrangement. Once asked the pros at a shop about this, they said that this is normal (not an issue with my alignment) and often cars won't have a perfect Ackermann arrangement because it's a tradeoff with some other factors.
i don't understand how people can't find drifting entertaining yet can watch cars make left turns for 4 hours
I miss this dude
