This dude has one of the strongest voices ever.

When i first heard the album version, i said " there is no way he could ever sing that song live". When i first saw this performance, I realized that I knew absolutely nothing.

It's gotta be one of the top vocals ever, and I mean EVER!

He lost a lot of time to the head injury (poorly diagnosed and treated) he sustained on Halloween night 1992 in Denver. He tried to climb a light tower. It broke loose and came down on his head driving his face into the stage. He had a lot of memory loss and spent several years literally dazed and confused. The incident broke up Steelheart's original lineup, otherwise they would have been HUGE!!!

It's because their first album was in late 1990. That's when this kinda music began a downhill... only bands to have any kind of success by 93 were mega names like Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Poison. Still by 1994 this kinda music was gone completely, it was taboo to even say you liked it. If a band didn't change, they were left in the cold. Honestly, I could name off a laundry list of killer songs and bands in 1991-1993 in this genre that was gone unnoticed but honestly were at the peak of musical pentacle within this "hair meta;" genre for technicality and musicianship. Off top of my head Tyketto - Forever Young would have been a smash hit in 1987 and the same for Baton Rouge - Walks Like A Woman.

Yes but singing live is a much better test to see just how well he can sing.

His singing just gives me chills. Such a fantastic singer.

Pay attention "artists" of today: THIS is pure, God-given talent. No AutoTune needed. I don't think even Mariah Carey can hit these notes. Only thing that bugs me is the band is bit too loud. These guys could hold their own and then some with the best bands of this era and were poised for superstardom when Matijevic was tragically injured and spent years recovering. Glad to know he is still making music.

Out of all the rocker bands on MTV or whatever he was my #1 favorite...my crush was so huge I have to say he is freakin HOT omg his side profile, his hair, his style,ugghh it gives me chills hearing this song and seeing his fine AF face....reminds me of my freshman year at Bel Air HS in El Paso, Tx & asking my dad to buy me this cassette at the local Best Buy store..then getting it and memorizing the lyrics cause I loved every song on the cassette....this was right before I got into the era of Techno and underground Raves.
