My father, uncle and their best friend all fought for Cus, and all won the NYC Golden Gloves. Thats back when Cus owned and trained at Gramercy Gym on the lower east-side of Manhattan. All three of them had championship timber, but all three fell into a life of crime, were incarcerated and essentially wrecked their boxing aspirations. That story was all too common for Cus back then, because kids from the lower east-side were so impoverished and had no role models to look up to other than gangsters. Everyone else lived paycheck to paycheck or went to bed hungry. If you talked to Cus he would have told you, without hesitation, that most of the most promising prospects he ever trained, with real championship ability, went to jail and wrecked their careers. Thats partly why he went to war with the involvement of gangsters in boxing, which essentially sent him into boxing exile, so he moved to the Catskills where in continued to train, mostly in anonymity, until he met Mike Tyson and was determined to make him the youngest HW Champ ever, and he KNEW Mike was the real deal, he could see it a mile away, the trick was to keep him out of trouble. For example, when Mike was only like 14 or 15, just a raw amateur, Cus told my father I have a kid here who is going to be the youngest HW Champ ever.

Cus was the greatest trainer whoever lived. Thats not just my opinion. I used to hangout at a boxing club in NY, exclusive for only boxing dignitaries and their family members. I had conversations with most of the greatest trainers of the 20th century. I have pictures with them in my house, and to a man, they all agreed that Cus was the greatest boxing trainer whoever lived, including Manny Stewart who I loved (beautiful human-being, may he RIP). Why? Two reasons. First, because they know that unlike them, Cus didn't take established GREAT AMATEURS then hitch his wagon to them. He took kids from the streets and detention centers, who had ZERO experience in boxing, and turned them into amateur champs (see my post below) and world champs. They also know that most of the best kids he ever trained, amateur champs, went to jail when they had WORLD CHAMPS written all over them. Lastly, they knew his unique style of training, Peek-a-Boo if you will, was virtually invincible if properly executed. Bottom line, there are no words to describe how much respect that man had in the boxing community. Oh yeah, and for DECADES he was essentially exiled from boxing for taking on the mobs influence in boxing, cause he felt like it stole from the fighters, at the risk of his own life. There's no telling how many more world champions he would have had, had he cooperated with the mob instead of taking them on.

From here I’m going to go learn the roots history and origin of fencing.. I would assume that at some point in a real game of swordsmanship where the opponents are fighting for life and reputation one would have to be skilled in inside fighting skills. Where the only place to hide is as close as you can get to your opponent. Sort of like fighting the tiger in a collusium. If you loose your shield, your best option is to grab the Tiger by the tail. Do not let go until death or victory...

This is unwatchable. And I am personally offended by these producers appropriating something that they have no way of understanding.
