This video is good at two major things;- (a) Explanation (b) Concept Hower, in practical it lacks in so many ways e.g. the calculation of quantity of reinforcements in slab is basically determined by the following factors:- 1. Type of slab construction i.e. -One way slab or -Two way slab 2. Size of the slab 3. Spacing of reinforcements 4. Method of steel fixing i.e. -Cranked bar technique or -Straight bar technique And so on, herein to mention the few... So, it would be much important for this kind of slab to have minimum amount of top bars which would help in providing resistance against torsion at the edges of the slab... Also the final figure should be in Pounds(lb) in lieu of Kilogram(Kg)...

Good explanation, since it is just to workout da weight of steel .....where as u r talking about design. So plz keep in mind that he is explaining procedure for site supervisors to workout da weight of steel from drawings provided to them at site for construction purpose....so in my openion it is best lecture for basic learners working at sites....

Sir, I work out that using spreadsheet and thank you so much for the reference. But the answer for total weight of steel using (D²/24) is in pound not in kg.

aoa sir its a humble request to u that u calculated absolutely right but u just mis type which is that the answer is in KG instead of writing pounds so for calculation of kg u have to divide final answer by 2.204 so u will conclude the answer in kgs ..

I think in foot we use DxD/24/2.204 for finding weight of steel in kg/foot

Sir . Last point is not correct. Run lenght=786.5 in this video and Dia of bar #4= Unit weight of #4 bar is=0.667lbs. 0.667×786.5=524.33lbs 524/2.204= 238kg Not 524 kg I want reply reply....sir

Construction works calculation based on architectural scale which is Feet, inches, sooter, on the other hand, engineering works calculation are performed mainly in engineering scale which is meter, decimeter, centimetre, millimetre and so on, because of very small scale of calculation
