Steam to the Grand Canyon - The Double-Header
First things first, I DO NOT OWN THE SONGS IN THIS VIDEO. Credit goes to ZZ Top and Jason Aldean.
Also, Please excuse the wind noise in this video.
On May 16th, 2012, ATSF 3751 and GCRY(CB&Q) 4960 made the 63 mile journey to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Before then, ATSF 3751 made a two-day trek across the desert from Los Angeles, California to Parker, Arizona, then from Parker, Arizona to Williams, Arizona.
Afterwords, the ATSF 3751 made its way back to LA on BNSF's Phoenix Subdivision and on the California and Arizona Railroad's trackage to Cadiz, California.

Though, this is not in Indiana, this is a very exciting video and took longer than I ever expected to get done. The trip was well worth it. Anyone who has not been to Central and Western USA, you really need to do so.

Great footage, I saw wheel slippage on BOTH 4960 and 3751 !!!!
Totally understand. I tried to to keep that in mind when I did wrote the script for the video. Doesn't hurt to know those extra little tidbits. So, oh well. Thanks for the comments!
There is a still shot showing the crew in the cab of 3751 when it pulls into the Grand Canyon. I'm the one standing in the Gangway with the Bowler Hat. Is it possible for me to get a digital copy of that photo?

maybe be a silly question but why do nearly all steam locomotives need a diesel helper engine ...? cant they pull trains anymore. ..?

I think, in this case, the diesel was there for mostly HEP (Head End Power) for the cars and would assist when needed.
"did" is not supposed to be there. Forgive me.
Great job on the editing Shane, although (personal taste) the narration is a bit long winded in a few spots where'd I'd just rather listen to the train and let them tell the story. (steam climbing 3.55% grade) personal taste though, and not meant to be a slam at all. Without being so rude as "Voice for radio", you really do have a good, inviting voice for narration.
Be nice to hear something besides that damn whistle.
