To my American eyes your railway always appears both familiar and exotic. Back to a place I have never been. But always to a place that I would have enjoyed visiting. Happy Easter to those who celebrate the day; best wishes to those who do not!

Hello . As always , it was the perfect trip in your Time Machine back to the good old days of steam . But I was surprised about the delivery of coal , I expected Easter Eggs . I wish you all a enjoyable and peaceful Easter . Also without the eggs from the YDMR .

Once again you have given us a bit of realism. That is how it was in the 1960's, hard working steam and then one day a diesel showed up on a service and it never went back to steam. They were sad days for the steam enthusiast.
@MouldyRaspberry
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks David. Sad indeed, I promise any diesel hauled services you see here will go back to steam!
Another trip to the Yorkshire dales. A diesel could it be the end of steam?... no just a minor setback. Great video as usual Lewis. Thank you.

It seems much more realistic with smaller tank engines at Misselthwaite, as it's such an out of the way place. But that means you can't show off your lovely big tender engines there.

That’s true Mark, I always think the Ivatt and Fairburn tanks look very at home there.
Hi Lewis. Nice to see that little ex GWR tank loco. I had to think to myself of the shot of that little tank engine making its way across the canal bridge reminded me of a Walt Disney film { Dumbo I think it was } where the little engine in the film is saying, I quote, I think I can I think I can as goes up the hill and on the way down its saying I thought I could I thought I could etc etc . thank you again Lewis for a nice video of you smashing layouts.

Hey hey hey it’s Mouldy Thursday Delight. Hello Lewis Great running session as always. I wonder if any of the railway workers at Misselthwait station turn gamekeeper of an evening as I notice a few deer wondering by the tree line.... Hope you and the family have a wonderful Easter. Stay safe, keep sharing and model on. Regards Lee@NEAR

Nice idea the class 27 at the end. I've noticed that your CCT behind her (second wagon from the locomotive) is a kit-built Parkside waiting to be weathered. Looks nice too.

You should have sneaked the diesel in at the beginning. I hate it when diesels are left till last. I don't like your Class 27, he should be on the scrap heap. Happy Easter for tomorrow in any case.🙃 Nice to see God's Wonderful Railway getting in on the act.

Looking better than ever! 'There's the Railway Children!' at ~9'45"??? ! Like it. Just a thought. Could you run more than one at once - a through express or something, with a local passenger or goods shunting in the sidings, or just a static 'train' in a siding? Al.
@MouldyRaspberry
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Al! Only one moving at a time, as it’s analogue rather than digital, although I could have a stationary train. I usually do that at Pondon where two trains pass each other. That said I have been thinking about perhaps making the switch to DCC.

Great video as always, just wondering what sound decoder or speaker you used in the pannier tank, lovely deep sound makes mine sound tinny! By the way videos of my layout can be found on Melbury Junction if you fancy a look.
@MouldyRaspberry
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris, I’ll have a look. I actually cheap and edit the sounds over the top of the videos!
Not sure which I prefer; the Cl 27 on the fitted freight or the B12, the Pannier looked cool on the passenger train, but the 4MT and it's loaded coal traIn looked the b business...
@MouldyRaspberry
2 жыл бұрын
Tough one, I like the 4MT on the coal train as well!
Very nice as always. The video opened with a particularly handsome Ten Wheeler. Is that one new or have I been missing something?
@MouldyRaspberry
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Thomas. It’s fairly new, I’ve had it a month or so - it’s got a very classic look to it.
At the time I was disappointed: a GW pannier tank from Banbury to Oxford… it might even have been Didcot or Reading. Not much of a loco I thought. But looking back it must have been right at the very end just before DMUs took over🤔.

@@MouldyRaspberry Exactly! Banbury Station had just been rebuilt and Dad wanted to look it over. We’d got off the Cambrian Coast Express especially… ‘from that to a humble pannier tank!’ I thought…

@@MouldyRaspberry Blimey… I just read that Banbury Station rebuilding was completed in 1958 so I I was only three years old when we took a look around it. Come to think of it the stairs were quite a challenge to climb up!
Lewis... I will shorten the gushung at the gorgeous trains and your layout so I can get to a question... How extensive is your sound catalog? Do you pick them up off various sites, did you buy files? DO you have a very varied collection of sounds which you can match to the locos presented? In other words, do you have a Black 5 sound file to match a Black 5 model, and so on?
@MouldyRaspberry
2 жыл бұрын
All the sound files are actually videos, mostly stuff I’ve filmed at heritage railways, and then I extract the audio from these for the videos. I have a couple of folders on my phone with different types of sounds, like pulling away, arriving, coasting, fast running, diesels and then three cylinder locos. In each I have about 10-20 or so files, other than coasting where I have about 50 🤣 I don’t always match the exact loco up, but I usually go for something similar just because it’s easier to get the speed/whistle sounds closer.
There are two ways of doing it, The Great Western way, The LNER way, or the wrong way. I'm Great Western and ... Don't we know it!
