hi how come after half hour mines seems watery?
An American GI was invited by his best buddy in Cambodian military to have a dinner with his family. This was a special dish that they prepared for their special American friend. They ate and enjoyed dinner very well. The American friend answered his buddy that the dish was very tasty and delicious. Well, he was invited again for another dinner. His buddy said that they would make the dish again since his American friend loved it so much last time. Unfortunately, the American GI apologized and said that he was too busy and could not make it. He was invited many more times. Yet, his American friend kept saying that he was busy. In fact, that the GI hated the dish so much. For the respect to his friend, American GI said it to make the family happy.

I think the GI should tell his friend the truth. Some Cambodian food does have strong flavor (stinky) especially to Westerner. I don't blame him. I think he just needed more time to appreciate the food. I feel the same way about cheese. The first time I had cheese, I basically threw up. It tasted like rotten milk. I never like cheese burgers, pizza, or anything that have cheese when I was young. However, after being in the state for a very long time I adapted the flavor of cheese. One of my favorite is Brie and blue cheese.
I'm hungry!

Where did you get the salted fish from?
Can I use any type of fish or would it work better with dried fish?
@ElissaKitchen
5 жыл бұрын
Hi Vicky, you can but it won't the original dish because the dried fish is salty and has a distinguish flavor.
Hello miss Elissa, can I use Prohok/mudfish in a jar to replace the salted fish since I can't find any in my area?

No, sorry I throw it away. If it smell stinky it should be the right one. hahaha
I just made this today and it was delicious! Thank you Bong! By the way, I also emailed you about the kwaGo, but I haven't gotten a response yet. I understand you're busy so I am not in a hurry. :)

tonysmile1 thanks for understanding, I’m still on Oct 2 email. Trying to go as fast as I can.
Can you substitute the pork meat for something else or is this strictly a pork and fish dish?
@ElissaKitchen

You could, I recommend chicken.
Hello can you add pro hok instead of dry fish?
@ElissaKitchen
5 жыл бұрын
You con, but I don't recommend because the salty fish has a different taste than prohok.
