I met Ben in the Organ Mountains while camped out overlooking Las Cruces New Mexico in December 2022. SUPER nice guy. Gave my wife and I a personal tour of his rig. What an amazing brain this man has. I can attest to those front seats he has are THEE most comfortable seats you'll ever sit in. He loves his apples...lol. We went our separate ways but hooked back up again at Schooliepalooza in February. Unfortunately I was having health issues and could not stay. But before we left I did get some pictures with him and still stay in touch. He truly is an inspiration.

@@reeblesnarfle4519True; but that man has a stellar talent for communication, and if he wouldn't let it rule him, and only does as many videos as, and when he wants; he could make some serious extra cash on You Tube which could help pay for travel expenses. He's very interesting, and I suspect that he would gain a huge You Tube following in short order. And he's obviously tech savy.judging by his van build innovations.

Ben you are just awesome. I love your, can do attitude. I am currently going through breast cancer treatment, and need people like Ben to remind me, no matter what the challenge I can work through it and live well. I have recently moved into a new home, and have to landscape this by myself as a 62 year old women. People like Ben remind I am strong and I will achieve my goals, even if it take longer. Thankyou for yet another inspiring video with just awesome independent people. It now time to go shovel road base and sand. ❤

I'm so impressed with his drive and initiative to take on such a daunting rebuild and lifestyle despite having a serious disability. About 8 years ago, my T7 was shattered and I was told I would have been paralyzed had I moved forward another 1/4 inch. I have lived in serious chronic pain ever since, so I was so happy to see him able to move around so nimbly with having problems in the similar area of my back. Great video on stealth living the high tech way!

Love the drop down bed I think I have only seen three builds before with a similar style of bed but that this one is also adjustable is on another level (unintended pun there, sorry). Great use of space and it looks so roomy and streamlined. Excellent job on this build and best wishes for wherever Ben's truck takes him (or he takes it) and with this home that means pretty much anywhere he wants to go! 👍 Very cute dog too!🐈‍⬛ Condolences to Ben on the loss of his beautiful Millie.

I enjoy watching tiny house videos because they give me ideas on how to make the most of my space within the family home. Just a thought in regards to a refrigerator next to the bed: I highly recommend it, even if you just have a small one or a plug in cooler. I like this and your perspective on how much you enjoy the simple things but clever luxury. This version and your setup is very instrumental to my ideas for my own set up. I am not a handicap but your consideration to your space on what I would take for granted is awesome. You have a different comfy view that you could take your ideas to the market for certain designs working for a camper company. Living in a tiny space had to be well thought out and you seem to consider everything to a custom point.

Your van interested me when I saw you in your wheelchair. I don’t need one myself but as a nurse things like this always catch my attention. Something I have occasionally heard from paraplegics is that regular kitchen counters are to high for them. I noticed yours seem quite high and I was wondering why they aren’t a bit lower so it’s not such a strain on your shoulders. Sometimes kitchen counters are too high for me and occasionally I find myself using the table to do some things. Anyway it’s a great idea and you have done an amazing job!!

I know I’ve said it (after almost every one of your productions) but I think this IS my favorite! I have such a desire to wander, and my amazing husband probably would too if he wasn’t forearm crutch dependent. It took me a long time to convince him to try a mobility scooter, and he was so angry when I secretly bought one off of Craig’s List for $350.00 lol. So I said hey, let’s go to Traders Village, no one will know you there, and you can try it out. TV is a HUGE flea market in between Dallas and Fort Worth, in Grand Prairie TX, and one could spend an entire weekend looking around, eating, and taking in events like Pow Wow’s and Rodeo’s, music, etc. Anyway… once we got him on the scooter, I could see his attitude change between the parking lot and entry gate. He went from “I’m not a little old man beeping at everyone on my rascal, to OH, I didn’t realize the turning radius on this was so smooth” in just a few minutes. We had a wonderful day, and even looked at all the items way out back where there are no covered stalls, and people just put their wares on tarps on the ground. His whole world opened up. So now I want a vehicle that he can ride his scooter in and out of, as I would REALLY like for him to get a lite weight or sports wheel chair, and something like the Omeo. Thank you Ben for sharing your amazing Perspectivan, I can’t wait to show him how, with his own ingenuity, we could build something that works for us. Give your pup some skritches and treats for us! -Valerie

I think that Ben is doing an amazing thing for himself, and he seems like a genuine and friendly person. I'm very happy for him! However I just want to disagree with the "anyone can do it if they want it enough" attitude at the beginning and end of the video. Some people just can't do it- period. It's not a moral failing on their part if they can't. It's painful to see comments like "yeah! no excuses" when there are completely valid reasons for some people to be unable to live this way- something even Ben touched on a bit. A person could be blind, epileptic, paralysed from the neck down or dirt poor. I just hope nobody watching this thinks that if you can't follow your dreams- you're just not trying hard enough. We're all doing the best we can with what we've got. ❤

It's very encouraging!! I'm so glad he made his dream of living the life he wanted true. I have thought of becoming a nomad, but at my age (72), I'm not really willing to go through and pay for it! Plus, my husband would not like it! I love him more, so I'll stay in my sticks and bricks for now. I will live vicariously through him and others like him!

I loved this. Very well equipped for his needs. His attitude is great. Having days where he sits and cries (I can relate) but that used to happen when he was in a house too.

Terrific vision on how to create a functional, accessible van. I think as people age in place, there is such a need for more of this sort of design. Kudos for pushing all of us to keep moving forward.

It is inspiring to see a handicapped person living free as you do. I am surprised you built your kitchen at standard height. As a chair bound person I often wish for low cabinets. I have shoulder problems because I have to everything higher than they are designed for. That is the only thing about your home I would change.
