VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Keith has a unique build and a sentimental perspective of his DIY 2009 children's Ambulance. When you look around the interior, you see the remanence of Sesame Street characters that had previously entertained the youth that had spent time in the rig. Respecting the rescue services and the technology that goes into these vehicles, Keith chose to keep most of the storage, electrical, and detailed accessories.
A small door connects the cab to the living space to lock for extra security. Besides shore power, Keith installed solar for more energy and has DC to DC charging while driving. In addition to the basic layout, there's also a cassette toilet and indoor/outdoor shower with a pass-through nozzle! His peaceful outlook on life is refreshing and brings a new light to living tiny on the road.

Thanks so much for this tour, this one has a personal connection for me. My daughter, now 25, was saved by an ambulance similar to this the night she was born premature. Weather was not ideal to fly her, they sent a mobile unit from the children's hospital to get her at the rural hospital we were initially rushed to. It saved her life. If that weren't meaningful enough, that beautiful, healthy 25 year old now serves as an EMT for the very service that saved her life. Every story is important. Sir, I'd like to say this: thank you for keeping the authentic children's decals, and the heart of what makes the history of this ambulance so special. I'm sure many lives were saved during its medical use. I hope you enjoy many years of travel and adventure in your home on wheels.

AMBORGHINI? Ha ha ha ha!!! Best name yet!!! Keith, you are a genius. Fridge - The 12V fridges with the Danfoss compressor, are Isotherm, Nova Kool, & Vitrifrigo. They are more efficient for power, esp with that induction cooktop. You did a beautiful job on the electrical system, bravo. That is the hardest part. I would love to see a video on how you updated the existing electricals. No one has a video on that - it is sorely needed.

Love the idea that you kept the Sesame Street stuff up, those ambulances were mostly used to transport children between hospitals, imagine being a very sick or injured child In a loud ambulance with all those tubes and wires and paramedics, so you have to imagine alot of very scared children got alot of comfort from those familiar characters while they were on a long ride. Jim Henson would be proud of you 👍🏻

First off I love your voice, so calming an easy to listen to. This somewhat of a remodel is fantastic. I love how you used so much of the existing ambulance, it has so much useful things like the cabinets, it would have been a shame to rip that all out and rebuild cabinet’s that wouldn’t have been half as sturdy. My favorite part is that you left all the stickers there.what a joy.

"Enjoy the process" Very wise words. When we first moved to the farm in '94, the first half of the first summer was overwhelming. There was so much to do and, it felt like, so little time to do it. One evening when we settled after supper in the veranda we realized we were exhausted, overwhelmed and *really* not having a good time. We decided on a re-boot. We took some time and established what our end goals were and worked, and re-worked a set of priorities. One of the most important priorities was including together time during all the work time. As we were a double rotating shift-working couple with a toddler, it ends up that breakfast was our big meal of the day. The one where we were most often all three at home with the least time pressures. So we started planning more elaborate breakfasts. Not just a quick bowl of cereal and on to the workday. It also worked out that we had approximately 3 days a month when both adults were off work, after Kidlet started school that fell to one day a month. "Family Day" became important and with it's own set of rules. We have to spend the day together, off the farm if possible, and chores kept to a bare minimum. All this to say that life is a marathon, not a sprint. When working out timetables and schedules it is important to value alone time, downtime and family time in the schedule and make space for them. You might have an over-arching project but you still have to live your life while working on the project.

Amborghini! I love that!!! An ambulance is the best vehicle ever created and I am in love with them. They saved my life twice! I want one so badly. Such a tough build and such fine quality. So nice to see this man did not rip out all the existing furniture and cabinets as they are high quality. A very good idea to have a large fridge in there, as that is the heart of the home on wheels. Cook good food and store it so you don't need to cook daily. I would use a Danfoss /Secop compressor fridge that is 12V because these residential ones are power hogs, so while you save on price tag, you lose on power. They also have to be kept level, whereas the 12V compressor fridge does not - a huge advantage in uneven terrain travel. It is not smart to put all the control switches right behind the cooking stove. I would move them. The induction stove- yet another appliance dependent on electric power, what is wrong with propane? Cooks faster on high propane than electric any day. Get a Camp Chef Everest at 20K BTU per burner and free yourself from electric. Cook outside, freeze most of it, and you have food all week. I love the two showers - indoor and outdoors. Very smart place to put them as the shower area can dry out fast with the double doors open. Simple, and effective. That is a comfortable bed with minimal expense and fast setup, another smart idea. I like slat beds a lot but I must say this is clever and easy. Love the cabinets, they are the best feature along with the wiring system and power grid already setup. I would redo the kitchen area - sink, stove, countertop - not very well laid out. But the rest is marvelous! Thanks for the tour!

I’m pretty sure I use to drive that exact NICU ambulance. Wild.

To the guy who owns this ambulance: If you don't cook fish on a high temp, it won't stink. We cook fish at about 275 degrees F, in a parchment pouch with herbs, butter and white wine and it's delicious. You could do a parchment pouch too, but put it in a pot or pan with a little water and steam or use a steam basket--low and slow--no smell, moist tender flaky fish. YUMS!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great job, you're a very resourceful person I would have never thought of using a Hula-hoop to take a shower. In addition, utilizing was already there genius. Wishing you many travels, health, & prosperity... Abrazos

That is one excellent build. Love the way everything is repurposed! So many folks want to rip everything out of the ambulance…they don’t want it to look like one. I think that’s a shame. There are so mgreat features in them why wouldn’t you want to make use of them? But to each his own! Congratulations! Job well done! Happy trails, Vaya con Dios!!
