@@un4zr3nalhaq88 I bet I watched Top Gun 100 times. Since 1986...I caught every one.. Even the Tom Wolfe book, The Right Stuff.. As that is where they got Maverick walking into that restaurant after the crash. As that happen to Chuck Yeager. In the F-104 trying to beat the high altitude record....As the kid found him walking on the road. With half his face burned off. And covered in blood. The kid thought he was an Alien. Now I bought Top Gun Maverick. Already watched it 3 times. As it just got pre-order released today..Just a damn good movie..

I thought whacking off the nose gear didn't make much sense for the plot. They could just say at the end of that they couldn't lower the tailhook or that it just didn't have one anymore as it wasn't needed, and then land in the barrier anyway. They put a REAL Tomcat on the carrier to film the ending, but when you watch the finished movie, you can't tell it's really there anyway
