Pentatonic Licks EASY - HARD - WEIRD
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to pentatonic licks to learn. In this video, I want to give you a mix of licks spanning from more basic licks to ones that are more complex and then others that are just weird but add a little something to your playing that may not have been there before.

Yes, this is great. So many new ideas, and a reminder to keep practicing to get to playing cleanly, something I didn't do when I started playing the guitar.
For many years I was trying to find a teacher who could simply teach me these type of licks. No theory no nothing. No one did, like it was their magical soup or something. I watched and listened to many advanced players playing these stuff and i was jealous and pissed off 'cause i could not figure them out (not very talented of course). I found this video last week. I am at the "standard legato" trying to play it without thinking it before i move on. I'm doing good and i also feel like i can make it as an (amateur/hobbist) guitarist! I have a new personal musical purpose once again! Thank you so so much Cameron!
I personally think, anyone who is trying to get super fast at shredding 3 notes per string should spend plenty of time on pentatonic sequences. Once you get good at 2 notes per string, you tend to take off like a jet when you go back to 3 notes per string. Helped me a lot! 👍🏻

I agree, I started with the pentatonics then moved into diatonic scales. I think the real trick to expand, though boring, is mastering "one string" scales on all strings (in different modes etc)
AWESOME VID - fun for me to watch , hard to play at 68, but inspiring me to never stop after 55 plus years.

Perfect learning video . Simple , easy to understand and just ONE simple viewing camera. Well done and rock on 🤘🏻
Here again Cameron shows everyone what a real workingman's pentatonic lesson is all about. Homie shreds like the world depended upon it. The best part of his lesson is that his breakdown speed jumps are just enough where if you can do the slow version, than the middle and fast ones start to take shape. Thanks again my brother ! ! your tearin' it up ! ! !
Dude... I'm watching this over and over again. Can't get enough of this. Great fingers you got there! Kudos, brother.
WOW, you are a great teacher and highly skilled guitarist/musician. Thank for sharing. I have been playing guitar for 40 years, and my picking technique is already improving because of you. Thanks
Very cool! Thank you for teaching this. Much needed to get out of the pentatonic rut. I will be practicing these.
Dude....I am 60 years old and my first concert was Led Zeppelin in 1977 at MSG. Been at this a long time and LOVE your videos!!!🤘

First concert I went to was Pink Floyd. They played in a pub, helped them carrying their gear in. Their sound was better than the bombastic stuff they did later.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love to watch you play, I could watch and listen to you all day. Absolutely fascinating the way you explain the techniques of guitar , even an eejit like myself can understand what you're saying ! It would be nice if I could play those licks but somehow it's enough to just watch you and feel enthused and optimistic enough to 'have - a - go'. You're a diamond geezer, thank you young man. 😃🎸🤗❤️🇬🇧✌️🖖👋
Young man, you are perhaps the best guitar teacher on KZread, your way of describing your licks and your presentation, along with your ridiculous skills is nothing short of amazing. As an old (crappy) guitar player, I appreciate this and wish I had your instructions when I was much younger. Kudos to you.
Bro, i love this! I have been experimenting with switching up the good old pentatonic myself so this video is just perfect. Killer licks!
Superb lesson Cam. Very useful. Thanks.
I've been searching for a player like you to leech ideas off of for a long time!!! This is amazing content, delivered really well. The 5's + training economy picking!! YES!!
Really good advice and an easy to follow lesson my British 🇬🇧 friend!!! Seriously, I really like the way that you talk "too" your viewers instead of talking "at" them, like if you were talking down to them. You have everything that a beginner can use but also a few things to teach old dogs new tricks! Very nice job mate! 🇺🇸 God bless and take care...
This is just what I am looking for to improve my licks that recently getting stuck and boring. I have to watch this over and over with my guitar and immitate the play. The notes are very simple but the spacing and the way they are played that make the whole difference. Thank you very much Cameron. Cheers from Indonesia.
You've got the best licks man! I learn and retain so much of what you show. Thanks a ton for putting these things out. 🙂👍
Thank you for sharing these awesome licks. So much to unpack but this has been added to my favorites and I just subscribed. You sir, are killer guitar player.
Such a great collection of licks/ideas, salute!
What a great video. I’ll try this later today. Thanks. ✌️
I love all of these licks. These have helped me improve on my soloing. All of them sound amazing. If I absolutely had to pick a favorite it would be that “Fake Steve Vai lick” that sounds so cool! But all of them were awesome. Thank you Cameron for the wonderful lesson and inspiration!
Awesome video, Cameron. Thanks!
Thank you for these flashy licks, Cameron. This is awesom!
Great lesson. This is a great way to get new pentatonic moves. These are bad ass licks that you if rip through with some speed you sound awesome
Bro, you've become my fave tutor on you tube. Great teaching technique and enjoyable awesome licks to learn. Thank you for making me a better player.
Hey Cam, Excellent video! I have learned some much from you, keep them coming mate! I love taking these licks and slowing them down and putting my twist on them.
Great lesson! Thank you. And what a beautiful guitar tone!!
Wow Cameron amazing job you have always been great at teaching ! Great patience explanation and breakdown thank you so much !!!
so glad i've found your channel. thx for sharing
Cool stuff! Recently been revisiting the pentatonic and playing with grace notes from the modes .
I'm inspired. Working on these asap. Thanks!
Cameron thanks for this, from a bass player trying to learn guitar jammin. You break it down so well 🤘🏼
Dude, this is incredibly useful and helpful! Thanks for the video!
Man Cameron. Thanks for all these great ideas! Other people take loads of money for showing you these ideas once in lessons and they cant even explain them as well as you do. You really enrich the guitar community! And you sparked my love for charvel guitars. I have three of them by now and I love them all! 😂
All those pentatonic fores that you just play on the guitar are great, that with such a style of decomposing pentatonic, major scales we can perfect each of our styles of playing the guitar🎸👍:All your advice is great. You play that guitar phenomenally.. The tone is spot on, and every tone and final vibration and tone🎵 twist makes you sound great no matter what you play.
Pentatonics are still my favorite. I've been spicing them up for years. Killer video, Cameron! 🤘🏼

Amazing talent. You absolutely liquefied those scary buggers! Great a tricks, love that guitar some too, sir! Nice
I’ll tell you what I find absolutely brilliant and that is that a young guy and other young guys like you all rate the 80s and early 90s guitar music . You mentioned poundcake lick and sweet child mine lick . That was when you must have been in nappies lol but incredible you are keeping it alive .I’m 50 and in those years I was a teen and I sat in the bedroom playing licks to all that stuff and all these decades latter in still rockin . I will be playing this to my grand children in my 80s and and I’ll crank the volume all the way to 10 !
Thanks for practicality side to play licks… actually appreciate your hard work into preparing these videos for us
Just the video y need. Thanks bro to share your knowledge.
Great lesson. Intervallic sequences like this are the best way to practice any scale. And as you demonstrate, most "licks" in Rock are about 90% scale sequences.
Its Friday, Im back from work, scrolling through youtube and see new video from Cameron. Now its a Happy Friday !!!
I keep coming back to this video, you absolutely got me off of my plateau and I'm increasing in speed every day! Most underrated guitar tutorial online imo
I'm new to your channel. Excellent video. Love the way you explain it and the sense of humour. Keep it up. Cheers from Ireland!
