I know nothing about aviation, but I watched intently because nothing is better than passion mixed with engineering. This story is inspiring for a person like myself who started a cabinet shop out of my garage.
We usually think these products come from some shiny factory so it’s refreshing to see a small business with an innovative niche literally running from a garage. Thanks for the behind the scenes look! And that ending had me thinking of a future bit where you or Chris do a tear-down of stall horn to show how it does what it does.
This gentleman is what makes america great. Hopefully there are more folks coming down the pipeline
What a beautiful tidy workshop.
Thank you! I have owned a 1961 172C for 20 years. It's now time for a serious panel upgrade. The research and work you've done on MVU has helped me understand what some of my options might be. I'll be waiting for the STC as well!
Thanks for the Wings Over Bellingham segment! For those that are curious, the island pictured is Sucia Island, part of the San Juan Islands and a marine state park. Beautiful!
There is nothing like honest service and honest ownership with knowledge.
This was great to see a small operation building for the future.
In the audio world, an analogy might be like having 19" rack mounts, making it easy to swap or upgrade your gear. Very cool.
This along with modern equipment has been long overdue in GA, great work 🫡 from 🇦🇺
Looks like a great adaptable, modular solution! Of course, like so many things with old planes, it raises the question of "Why wasn't it done like this in the first place?" But he makes the excellent point that this is a solution to a problem that could ground otherwise usable aircraft. For all the cool stuff they can do in that shop, it doesn't look like they can do the core sheet metal work there, which would be interesting to see.
This was freakin’ amazing! I love the forward thinking behind the basic concept, I love the behind-the-scenes peek into how this business got started, and it warms my heart to hear that the FAA is realistic and cooperative regarding the limitations created when a small shop is developing big ideas. Now, can we discuss the poor small animal that seems to have surrendered it’s life to create the sounds heard at the end of the video?

I thought that was just the celebratory kazoo for a smooth landing! 🤣🥳
Coolio. We'll definitely be talking with Lyle on a panel for the Faux Fighter (172B c/n 17248656) project! Give a yell if you need any sheetmetal help! Road trip!
Thank You Glen! Love the video (as always!) We're making good progress on the new stationary panel kit since your visit and possibly, (fingers crossed) may have an earlier than projected delivery date. The finalized designs are in the hands of the DER team and have begun their analysis and, the Seattle FAA is reviewing the STC-AML request.

I think you guys will have a huge hit on your hands when it finally comes to market. I can see mechanics recommending these to customers who have had their panels modified over the decades.(especially if said mechanic did the modifying)
What an incredible look into what it takes to get an STC. I'm not sure why this topic has been on other channels, but this is an amazing look into many wonderful points of interest. Also a look into recycling, upcycling, or repurposing, airframes no longer airworthy. The radio rails with the slotted channels. Wow! Great stuff!!
Oh man, I hope we get a Pacific Northwest travel vlog from you in the future. Cheers from the Oregon coast!
Great people that do strong work!!! Thank you for recognizing their obvious commitment to keeping these older planes flying...and structurally safe!!!!!
Good to hear what to expect from Transport Canada on this US STC. Excellent planning and design!
Love this style of video, very informative. Really allows you to see the process involved in sort of thing. Thanks
Are you technically not airworthy? Yes after a solid filming of "Cocktails After Dark"🤭

I do believe they film all the Cocktails After Dark videos in the dead of Winter when flying is questionable at best.
That's a man with a passion and dedication.
A great video Glen and a very interesting project, for which I’m eager to follow the progress. Hopefully we will see it much sooner then forecasted.
Great video Glen. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the link, am studying the catalog avidly!
Loved this
Great video!
I saw those trees and before you said you were in Washington I was thinking you were in Vancouver. I remembered you said you were going to be heading to the West Coast but couldn't remember where and those trees look identical to ones I've seen on Linus Texh Tips in Linus's videos out in his yard.
Glen, the next time you come to the PNW please let me know. I am only 4 hours away from Billingham and would have driven up to have coffee!

Fantastic 👍
This is really exciting news! We have a beautiful 1962C model we have been looking at a complete update of the panel. This is so exciting. I am going to be keeping a eye on the progress. Sounds promising. We are out of CSX7 sexsmith Exeter ontario Canada. 🇨🇦
I *LOVE* drilling out Cherry Max rivets!!!! *NOT.* Great video, Glen!
G,day Glen from Sydney Australia. I was surprised to hear; 'there is structural support' in the aluminium panel. 🌏🇭🇲
Great video, Glynn ! I really like the way you present information in a way that every person can understand and learn from. Could they install their product in their own aircraft and fly it as experimental?

The Legacy XL Stationary Panel Kit is FAA STC’d for Cessna 172 models E thru M and soon B,C & D It is not intended to be installed in any other type of aircraft, certified or experimental.
That makes me curious about the structure in my D model!
Dear Glen, thanks for the great video. Watch your channel often and will be using quite a few tips you have shown on my kitplane that I am constructing. I am really interested in the extruded aluminium avionics rails. If possible could you give me the name of the product? Cheers Ross.

We didn't mention costs in the video, because pricing changes and this video will be here for years. Check out sixpackaero.com for current pricing.
Oh jeez, good luck with the Transport Canada side of approvals 🗓️😅. Jokes aside, really cool stuff. The panel is going to be great!
